Paysite Tip - Don't Skimp on the Trailer

This month?s tip discusses one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of selling your website(s)? The video trailers. I can?t tell you how many times people have come to me, scratching their heads, wondering why their very good tour is not converting so well only to find out when I look at the video trailer that they spent almost no time putting a great one together. If a picture is worth a thousand words then your video is work 100,000. So what makes up a trailer that helps sales then?

1. Don?t give away too much. I?ve seen some awful edits where it?s basically just 30 seconds from a scene with a front and back stuck on it. If you show too much contiguous action or just too much in general then your potential horny client is going to finish the job to the trailer and not join.

Don't skimp on everything. In a world where people want all the latest stuff you have to give them all the latest stuff, but at a cost.

Yes, well actually I have thousand more ideas on trailers than what I see on the sites, so I was always wondering if innovation is trouble.. You kind of confirm my thoughts about that..

One thing I always tell people too is that this is the web. You can try out the most crazy idea and see the results instantly. if it sucks you can take it down the next day. This isn't a print ad or TV commercial where you are stuck with it at great cost if it doesn't work.

do you have an example of this one-

4-Don?t be afraid to mix in text between cuts to deliver your message. Everyone does a front and back but very few do neat little things in the midst of it to drive your pitch home. It works well.

Check out the embedded video at:
http://www.inbedwithfaith.com/trial/videos.html

It's kind of a slide show meets video. This tour is converting as good as anything I've done in years. I think the Duke Dollars guys do some stuff with mixing text in like that too. As a matter of fact, in general they are great ones to look at for some of the best ways to do a trailer.

I think that is totally key for getting a conversion, the text breaks are annoying interludes that break things up and gives the potential buyer one more reason to want to get the full video... good tips

I really think it kind of sucks that ad companys (me included) have to spell out particulars on the why for to clients in this industry.

In no other medium does this occur to this degree.

Why?

Because generally, people in porn are inexperienced, undereducated, often underage, quite often drug addicted, and overall just plain dumb. Sad to say, but it's the truth.

Anyone coming out of an offline ad agency would lose their mind dealing in our industry. When I get people who want to enter the market doing sites I have to stress really emphatically how this is a complete sub-culture that is like nothing they have ever experienced. I think one of the things we see on the service side of this business is a lot of young people who made money fast and look like big shots to their friends so they think they are the next mogul and you end up dealing with some crazy out of proportion notions about how much knowledge someone has.

I don't know who else in here offers consulting type services and all too but how many times have you had someone hire you to deliver results because of what you know then all they want you to do is agree with their ideas? It takes some time to learn how to pre-screen potential clients so you don't end up in an scenario with no possible happy ending.
