In my experiences when your OS's hard drive repair/fix utilities can't keep a hard drive in good shape then it's time to invest in a new hard drive pronto.

Time to replace the drive. Clone the data with Norton Ghost (or g4l/g4u/etc), and trash the old one.

yep like I said before, get yourself a copy of ghost that boots off a cd. CLone your bad hd to a new one, plug hard drive into machine, off you go.
in the ghsot settings set it to force clone, and ignore erros |
