The Ghostbusters whould be great for hunting down terrorists.
Whenever a suspected terrorist call comes in they go and zap the terrorists and all innocent victums that look like terrorists in their way. (since they never really get it right)

hehehe. Sick, but would fun to watch

I love ghostbusters but it was pure 80's. I don't think it'll work out as well now.

Part 1 was great fun, but after part 2 it's just a popcorn-flic for the kids... Nobody will give the money to produce part 3 for big screen...

You guys should get the special edition Ghostbusters DVD with commentary on it. You can see the outlines of the guys as they talk and point up at the movie. It rocks.

Fuck ... I used to wake up, eat my granola, smoke me a joint, and wait for my kids to get up on Saturday to watch that shit. Stood in line for the fucking Cabbage Patch dolls (suma dem bitches got MEAN in them lines), bought more fucking My Little Ponies and Care Bears than I care to think about, and had a fucking bumper sticker that said

NUKE THE SMURFS.

Fuck their little blue asses. And fuck Punky Brewster too. Fuck the 80s while you are at it.

I remember when that little girl grew up...people magazine did some big article on her...her breasts were double d's by the time she was like 15...kids called her Punky Boobster.

she ended up having breast reduction surgery.

That's what she looks like now.

Planet of the Apes wasn't a universally loved concept like Ghostbusters. It's like comparing E.T. to Alien.

Planet of the Apes is a cultural classic that has lasted throughout the years and through many generations.

It was one of the first movies (actually it was the t.v. series) I can recall that had toy tie ins even before Star Wars.

I had the whole set.

There's been many attempts to update a movie and it hasn't worked.

Sequels in most cases are failures anyway.

Just because the concept sounds good does not always equate $'s at the box office.

It is and was way past it's prime. The generation that it targeted vaguely knew it. Most of them looked at the original show as odd. If Markey Mark wasn't in it it would have really flopped! The original show was a dark sci-fi drama. I'm not saying it didn't have fans but again it's like comparing the profit potential of a heart warming comedic romp like E.T. to the darker drama of Alien. Ghostbusters was a warm and fuzzy family flick. You can't compare the profit potential of the two.

It depends on how well the movie is made, special effects etc. The big block buster movies that are being made are movies of that genre, but they are not for me.

Well they are bringing back The Teenage Mutant Ninja Tuhahahaes to the big screen, but this time no goddamn Vanilla Ice!!!

Its gonna be done anime style to match the original comic books!!

And I hear it is going to be done with computer animation(but not 100% on this part, but the rest of it has been confirmed).
