Uh... buying content doesn't make supporting it's theft OK.

And I was one of your webmasters. I'm pulling my Big Tit Buffet links until you stop being a tool.

Torrents can be excruciatingly slow sometimes

For everyone getting moral, let me ask this: how many of you have paid for the copy of photoshop sitting on your computer?

You should probably pull them permanently. Even if he stops being a tool, for now, who knows what other bandwagon which is profitable to them he'll jump on next, without regard to affiliates.

Common Sense 10-02-2007 07:56 AM

Gotta love Phoenix pitching in calling everyone useless. The same guy who is so fuckin broke he had to hit up affiliates of liondollars to scam an online casino.

fuckingfuck 10-02-2007 07:59 AM

I can't imagine how people can do business with this Timbo tool after reading this thread. He sounds like the type who will sell affiliate details when he needs money or try to access affiliate epass/paypal accounts with the passwords they have on file.

It's why I have the previous version instead of the current version, because I won't just download it and say "fuck them". But at the same time, they aren't getting my money for the moment because they are pricing themselves out of the market to make up for all the sales lost to piracy, downloading, and those "$29.95 Adobe Suite" spam mails.

Timbo, you need to tap your moral compass a bit, It's sticking. Take a list of all of the videos on the pages you ads appear on. At the next show, walk up to each of them and explain to owners of those videos personally why you are using their stolen content to make money.

If you can't see yourself doing it, then you know it isn't right.

It really sucks to be Timbo. The only people he can get to promote his crap are content thieves. It must suck to try and be a big baller yet not have enough money to get real affiliates or produce your own content.

Does this mean we won't see them on thumbzilla, and any of your other traffic sites?

Isn't it also nice that Phoenix thinks your traffic is useless?

I own my copy of photoshop, can you take the links down now please? thanks

Matt Collins 10-02-2007 01:30 PM

Content theft is one of the biggest threats to our business and it is incumbent for all of us to work to fight this common enemy.

Let's face it, if surfers can get all of Lightspeed's member's areas from a torrent site, then my RevShare Hosting webmasters have nothing to sell. While I know Steve fights for his rights daily, it is really frustrating to see affiliate programs supporting the very thing that threatens our livelihood.

The good news is that the movie, music and software people are fighting just as hard as we are so its a common cause. Again though, we all should do our part. Its damn hard to support Python when they are threatening my livelihood.

Matt

I can't say that I've ever made a sponsor decision based on where that particular sponsor buys their ads. I don't want to dodge your question as it's really very fair and something I will have to give some real thought about.

I have, on the other hand, rejected affiliate programs that are based on selling memberships to stolen content sites and I will continue to do so. I felt that was an easy decision to make and feel very strongly on that point.

Anyway, good question...

Matt

Thanks.

Holy fuck what a pathetic mother fucker. Heres a response from a webmaster that joined your program the first week of its inception. Im pulling all your links and I hope you rot in hell. :321GFY

SykkBoy 10-02-2007 03:59 PM

If we're so bad, why are content providers hitting me up on ICQ to sell me content?

If you have a moral problem with this, are you saying it's still ok to take money from us? You'll complain about it on message boards and then say "hey, when are you going to buy some content from me?"

Klen 10-02-2007 04:06 PM

I remember when i inform shaft(phyton) about similar thread like this one he only said how bad is and that's it.No response from him in that thread.

What? A content provider, in this thread bitching, is hitting me up to buy content from him. If I buy content from him, isn't he taking "dirty money"? Wouldn't he be indirectly profiting from something he finds morally wrong?

Papillon 10-02-2007 04:44 PM

You need a coffee or something dude your brain is not working today. I have absolutely no doubt some scumbag content provider is hitting you up to sell you content. This industry is full of them.

The point is this. You are fucking your webmasters and the industry by supporting this sort of criminal activity. Why the fuck would you support this kind of shit? Just because its not your content doesn't make it right. You are supporting thieves man.

Anyways if you need it explained to you you are either a fucking idiot or completely aware of what you are doing and you simply dont give a fuck. I suspect its the later which is why you will find anyone with any sort of a backbone wont tolerate this blatant bullshit. I sure as hell won't be.

Links get pulled today never to be promoted again.

DS250 10-02-2007 04:50 PM

I admit I usually only get on here to flame people and stir up shit but i am going to be serious here for a second. I still push a large amount of what you would call legitimate traffic and I have since 2000 or so. I have been ripped off by countless payment processors and affiliate programs for tens of thousands of dollars. Most of you would stab each other in the back for a buck so you should save your outrage because it is useless. The adult internet industry didn't get it's shitty reputation undeservedly. Whether or not you like it the tube torrent and file sharing sites aren't going anywhere. You can either choose to find a way to profit off it or you will end up like all of the big tgp sites with their traffic and sales numbers taking a fucking nose dive. You might succeed in hurting one or two but 10 more will pop up in their place. You are sticking your finger in the leaking hole of a dam that is about to crumble.

I def hear ya there but I dont have to be a part of it. If a sponsor is going to announce they support content theft then I am not going to send them my traffic. Simple.

You might feel that way but you are only hurting yourself. The traffic they receive from these sites is far more than what they might lose from a few pissed off affiliates that decide to pull links and most of the affiliates actually won't. And if you don't believe torrent tube file sharing traffic is profitable you are dead wrong.

I don't use Photoshop, but I did pay for the copy of Paint Shop Pro on my PC.

Regardless, others' hypocrisy (or lack thereof) doesn't justify your program's support of content theft.

Sykk, you're not this dense. Stop being someone else's puppet.

Content providers make money on a one time deal. Once they've sold their package, it makes no difference who downloads their content and how it gets downloaded.

And again, their hypocrisy still doesn't justify your program's support of content theft.

Seriously, you're really not this dumb. Stop it.
