How are CCBill processing fees calculated for affiliates?

One week it was 10 bucks and a couple weeks later its 6 bucks. How does it work? Obviously its not by percentage.

Do you have more than one account merged under your master? AFAIK it's either all or nothing, which means you either get X% gross, or X% net (after processing charges). If you have multiple accounts and they have different settings then your processing cut is probably going to vary a bit with each payout. There's no reliable way to tell what programs have it set to, unless you have very few sales and can figure it out by comparing stats with your payout information.

If it's CCBill, you can just go to your Tools menu, and click to "view" the Program Details - you'll know how it pays out.

Sounds like you had a couple of trials cut out for you, no actual Memberships, though...

The CCBill guys are great - after you log in call their contact or tech support number and ask them everything you want to know...

Hey hey, I see that's new. Great addition by ccbill, I've been asking about this for ages. Now it's completely transparent.

I still think it would be handy if ccbill went further and published the effective net fee.

Assuming a $19.95 signup, 15% processing fee

60% + Split = $10.17 payout (51% of gross)
50% + Don't Split = $9.97 payout (50% of gross)

How many webmasters will take the 60% over the 50% program without realising they're only netting about 1% extra?

On the other side of the coin, 50% + split @15% fee is an effective gross revshare of only 42.5%

The split is all up to each program.
Some eat it, some split the fee so each gets half, some make you eat it.

I am more in the split category since it is a 50/50 rev share.

I wasn't aware of the split fees till now. Thanks for the info.

edit: so choosing programs that "don't split" equals more money for me correct?

Then that would not be a true 50/50 split now would it? Unless its just by price only deffinition.

That is more like a 50/35 split. Then to think the sponsor already pays for the content, the hosting, the scripting, the so forth...

Yes, for the same percentage rate you'll get a higher payout with a "Don't Split" program - but that also assumes identical signup ratios... you're better off figuring the ratio of traffic sent (preferably your OWN stats, not ccbill's clicks) to bucks made to decide which sponsor is best.

TRUE

A 50/50 split of the NET would be nice if affiliates would go for it.

I'd love to split all costs 50/50 with them.

Thats why I am not a big fan of eating entire processing fee, though sometimes I do. Depends really. Hell I do not use a lot of affiliates though. I can be more picky I guess.

On the plus side, you can use your true 50% gross payout as a selling point to affiliates. As you can see from my calcs above there's very little difference between 50%/no split and 60%/split.
