It's funny to see you guys dogging likewhoa, when most of you don't have a clue whats going on.

We have some stuff hosted with them, it's on Verio bandwidth, and its running just fine.

It takes money to grow a hosting operation to the size they have become over the last couple years, and it takes some know how. Any issues we've ever had with them basically boiled down to slow customer service response, which hasn't happened in awhile either. Both Nick and Stan have been quick to personally answer any questions I've had in the last month, and their uptime has been great to this little blip in the road.

EVERY host, I don't care how big or how well connected they are, has problems at some point in the road, and if someone promises you 100% uptime with great mms responses they are kidding either you or themself.

Will we have future problems with them and the rest of our hosts? I'm sure we will. How they handle it after the fact is what determines how much of our money they continue to get.

RikRok 09-13-2002 03:13 PM

I'm not a host, so I wasn't dogging anyone.

But Kim, if your stuff is on verio with likewhoa, what URL can other interested parties check out?

Thanks,

Rik

hi kimmykim. which sites do you have on verio bandwidth? i'm trying to find likewhoa via verio but i'm having no luck, only seeing it go through level3 (in and out) from a diverse set of hosts.

Tukhman 09-13-2002 03:25 PM

Rik,
Then why do you care? You are not a Like Whoa client, if they are unhappy they will address it with us. If we didn't fulfill on what we promised, and can't do anything in order to make sure that this never happens again, or credit them accordingly, then what do you want from this?

Do you really think that after years of building this in a vision I did your posts or anybody else's to attract more attention to the matter are going to do anything? Do you think _I_ will give up to do whatever it takes to make sure my clients are happy?

I don't understand the reasoning behind some people posting. My clients were informed, they were informed along the process (those who missed it - it was in the stats area). I sent a letter to every client telling them who serves their bandwidth, what happened, why and what did about it... and even WHY it took so long...

What is this with you and everybody else who just wants to see this bumped up more. Any accusation or rumor is doing nothing but wasting people's time. I dont' have a single client of mine, personally complaining to me right now, as a matter of fact, I get responses to my e-mails thanking me for being upfront.

Wake up and smell the coffee. I built this company with my team and it's here to stay. Whether you are going to add to this hiccup of problems or not, it's not changing my outlook. It's only making me work harder.

If we screwed up, we will fix it. If you can do better, then compete and take everything away from us. Our clients are provided with the best service this industry has to offer, and that's not my ego, that's our family of clients telling the NOC.

If some people are unhappy, we usually address. If they are pissed off to a point we can't do anything about, we understand. We learn and we do better next time.

That's how we function, and that's how we got where we are.

Just give up already, everybody knows what happened. Even if people didn't read GFY and they happen to be influenced by this problem we had, they already know about it. And not from you, from ME telling them about it.

You might be a nice guy, and just do this out of curiosity, but notice how you are not even a client posting here? Geez. :1orglaugh

RikRok 09-13-2002 03:30 PM

T,

All everyone has been hearing is how LW has been "taking care of its problems" and "if it screwed up, it will be fixed". You HAVE the opportunity here to dispell all the rumors and the technical observations, but instead use your posts to obfuscate the details and complain about posters who are your potential customers. Or at least, they were.

Did LW screw up?

---

LW is fair game because EVERYONE knows LW trolls these boards looking for customers. Any hosting thread or even mention of a host has someone from LW looking for business. If LW can't take the scrutiny, it shouldn't be prolific in its efforts to evangelize itself.

Tukhman 09-13-2002 03:35 PM

What explanations? You seem to be more affected by the problem then my clients are? Marketing has nothing to do with informing on what we screwed up about it and on why. It has to do between Like Whoa and its clients/partners.

My goal is not to satisfy your needs, but my clients'. Public image is the last thing I care about when hundreds of people experienced a problem. Routing through Cogent? Not since 3AM yesterday.

I'll market my company when I make adjustments to address on what we screwed up on. That way, when those issues are not just fixed but positively brought to our clients, I'll market it in a way that you will understand what happened. Trust me.

salsbury 09-13-2002 03:37 PM

it's just kinda weird that nobody has been posting about their experiences, except KimmyKim, i believe (and then nothing substantial). i'd expected to hear a lot more. it's puzzling. i know when other hosts have gone down, there's been a lot more posts about 'em.

media 09-13-2002 03:40 PM

Tuckman.. You gonna reply to your icq messages or what man..
lets finish up what we started please..

Media

Tukhman 09-13-2002 03:41 PM

Right. And one of those hosts is yours. So you felt because our clients are properly informed in the best matter we can, they don't post, so hence that's a bad thing? I see... just another perspective I guess :Graucho

It's because everybody is available round the clock, from tech support down to me for the period of this problem and answer questions as they are addressed. Weird I guess.

RikRok 09-13-2002 03:46 PM

T,

You are doing more of the same. Complaining this isn't the right forum to be airing LW's visible problems, and then bragging about how great your support is.

If you can't reassure the interested parties about your network's stability, who cares what the support is like? Besides, when you are having a major network outage, what do you expect support to do? Go home? Everyone is working when the fire alarm is rung.

Rik

Tukhman 09-13-2002 03:50 PM

It has nothing to do with informing anybody. The most important task for us is to make sure that OUR CLIENTS are happy, then comes everything else. New clients are what we will do once we sort out what happened.

Whatever happened, Like Whoa in NO WAY is passing blame on soembody else. I've mentioned this before. Every and any problem that occurs would always be our fault.

We are just doing what it takes to make sure such never happens again. Don't worry, we take all criticism seriously and our perspective on this requires immediate attention.

...and we are doing this right now. Now next week, next month. Right this second and wouldn't post anything until we know it's fixed, not patched.

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 03:56 PM

I like how everyone is typing 2 or 3 lines per paragraph. It makes it easy to read.

Thank you.

RikRok 09-13-2002 03:57 PM

I guess this is a new policy.

You didn't seem to practice the "Its all LikeWhoa's fault" policy in October 2001 when you started this thread:

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...threadid=41049

You were glad to blame Level3. Whatever happened with your discussions with Level3's legal department?

I am glad you reference how everything comes back to haunt you.

IF ALL OF THIS is just for LikeWhoa's CLIENTS ONLY, why the hell are you wasting time POSTING PUBLIC UPDATES about LikeWhoa's status?

Rik

salsbury 09-13-2002 04:02 PM

thing is he's not really posting public updates, which is his perogative, of course. but you are right - they are rather aggressive with sales - the near-complete lack of information about the situation here is unfortunate.

boneprone 09-13-2002 04:09 PM

Intresting how the complaining and shit throwing is from non-likewhoa clients.

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 04:10 PM

They are not as aggressive as I am with my sig! Wait until I start my program! Muahahahahahaha!

Somebody quote me please

Tukhman 09-13-2002 04:13 PM

Because with Level(3) there were preventive measures taken unlike in this case. It's unfortunate that you don't understand that. And it's even more unfortunate that you will never understand that none of this pertain to you. I'll venture to say that your curiosity is not even based on your previous consideration to use Like Whoa, but come from a personal vendetta against Like Whoa.

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 04:19 PM

Theo 09-13-2002 04:24 PM

jesus, Pornwolf got a FPA signature

As i said....

Apologies and promises.

RikRok 09-13-2002 04:40 PM

You know what they say.. That and $1.25...

Rik

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 04:45 PM

Not $1.25, $40 a trial signup!!!

You have to be crazy not to click my sig right now!

RikRok 09-13-2002 04:47 PM

Your sig is pretty tight.

I like the girl on the right, the one on the left needs to be hotter.

Yes, you are marketing in EXACTLY the style you threatened you would.

Lucky us.

Next thing you need to do is start asking people for their email addresses so you can contact them "privately" because you have questions about their content offerings.

Rik

Kimmykim 09-13-2002 04:48 PM

Boy this thread has just turned sour...

I don't recall anyone having to tell anyone else what happened when something went wrong. If it's something that is preventable then it would be nice to see it not happen again, if it's something uncontrollable then so be it.

Another host of ours had a major issue right before the Miami show, was much more damaging than this to us financially, but you didn't see their clients or non clients crying here about it...

If LW is compensating clients for downtime, that should be the end of this particular witches brew...

Pipecrew 09-13-2002 04:56 PM

atleast likewhoa can actually admit when they make a mistake, unlike every other host on here that blames everything they can, as to why something went wrong

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 04:58 PM

Good idea Rik Rok.

I think all of you hosts that are reading this should click on my sig and use Platinum Bucks for your free hosts that you run on the side! They can pay weekly through Pay Pal so you can shut down the fly by night free hosts and start up again and pocket the money quickly. I've heard that's happened once or twice.

Pornwolf 09-13-2002 04:59 PM

Did I mention I like Kimmy Kim? To hell with that guy umm... Shan, err... Shaq... whateverhisnameis!

dailythumbs 09-13-2002 05:06 PM

I agree too :Graucho :Graucho
