In Montreal.. can you get away with not knowing French?
I plan on living there (hopefully) for the next 2 months.. My french is very poor.. will I run into a lot of problems or are most people bilingual?

				 | Over half the population of Montreal is bilingual. The only area of concern with being an anglophone in Montreal is that it is difficult to get a job here. But I'm assuming you're self-employed, so you'll be fine. Just get used to not being able to read advertising ;)

				 | as a tourist, you will have no problem... If you would decide to live here, it would be appropriate to learn French as if you would live in Italy it would be appropriate to learn Italian...

				 | I'd imagine you'd get along as well as the people in Los Angeles that don't speak English.

				 | I did it for 3 years, no problems at all. The more east you go, the people seem to speak english tho. Downtown is practically anglophone. |

				 | I'm not bilingual and I have no problems at all. The more you are around the language, the more you will pick-up. If you try to speak the language, the Frenchies will appreciate it and help you learn. |
