thanks for the compliment. we take a lot of pride in being original and if you like HuntingMoon - I think you will also dig SailingMoon, and here is a low-rez preview:

The goal is to have everyone's best domains with fixed-pricing and them popping under to their SailingMoon shop page/This Domain Is For Sale Links too and partnering with SailingMoon to move domains in volume at somwhere between wholesale and retail.

ps click the sailingmoon image please to see it full-size

Thanks DaddyHalbucks! We thought it was a fair deal for the buyer and us alike too. Not too much, Not too little--

One thing we learned from this was to always make sure the buyer does their currency conversion prior to sending a wire into escrow btw lol.

Congrats on the sale Evan.

Not a bad price but I did figure you would get more then 77k for it.

If everyone's happy - that's all that matters

Evan, do we submit domains and you figure value, or do we say how much we want for them? Am guessing by the "make offer" domains we can just submit and see what happens.

You take 10%?

we lost 3k on the currency conversion but i think you mean 6-figures was possible. spend was kind of a limited domain for development i think. if it was save.com it would have been more apt for today's market. nobody offered more and the previous best offer was 70k at the moniker auction a few months ago. i think it was time to turn and burn.

Hi Baddog,

How was your trip up to s.f.?

Good questions: You can submit your list with or without pricing but only truly marquise domains can be listed on SailingMoon with "Make Offer". The rate is 10%-14% depending on the amount of the sale (scaling). Also we are paying affiliates 5% on SailingMoon.com sales and 10% on HuntingMoon.com sales fyi. Full terms and conditions will be posted and emailed to all domain owners who are considering listing domains on the site. The key thing we are looking for are responsible-proactive domain owners who regularly update their account with SailingMoon to have their latest domains up and sold domains delisted in timely fashions. We want the site to be as reliable and efficient as HuntingMoon and offer the same quick turnarounds. The thing we need to avoid is the sedo-ishness of 1000's of domains listed that have already changed hands and are no longer for sale and also the lack of replies from listers at sedo too.

This dude is gonna flip it in a year when Visa comes out with the "spend" card. Their answer to the black card, probably sell it for atleast 2-3 million.

Smart guy, i figured it was already taken.

Only went as far as San Jose, but it was a worthwhile journey.

I am going to email a list of domains to you for some input.

They are all old, and no real rush to dispose of them, but if someone wanted to make an offer we could not refuse, well, we wouldn't.

You have mail.

in our experience that is true on most domains over $6000, but under $6k impulse buying kicks in. any buyer can find $5k-$6k for a domain they fall in love with from our experience.

fyi- do you remember this thread: http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=742502 where we were looking for a 5-6 character domain for a client?

in case anyone was curious, we ended up scoring HitUp.com and HitMeUp.com

yes, please and if you include reserves that is helpful as well. with regards to cross-listing domains between aftermarket venues, SailingMoon will not require exclusives, so you can cross-list. Moniker has a window on your domains though where you would have to whack them in. You could pause your domains during that Moniker exclusivity window if the double-fee's are going to kill your roi. Otherwise though, you should send them because we are buying and there is no time like the present

got your mail - replied with the domain i like and some sailingmoon comments

side note, when domains are listed on SailingMoon.com they will get the right eyeballs driven there by us for starters- all of our parked domains and HuntingMoon proper will link to SailingMoon, as well as our google and yahoo ppc traffic we buy for HuntingMoon and IPalert. Also, if you link to your own listing and make the sale- you earn the 5% affiliate commission and help your roi out a bit (all tracking is hardcoded whether it's an offer or a transaction, and we ask on the phone as well for details on where they found us- although 100% of the sales have commenced online thus far).

no we are actively looking and also for SailingMoon we are pretty wide-open within reason. responding to your email now and the 6char or less dictionary word domain is needed so we have an owned replacement for spend. It's good to have at least premium dictionary domain. We have 1000 more dictionary domains but they are not as vanity-ish as spend was for us.

Who pays the escrow fee with Moniker, is it included in the 10-14%?

Who negotiates the sale, are the leads forwarded to the seller or are you guys planning on handling that as well?

Where can I read the terms and conditions of the site?

typically the buyer pays escrow fees if they want to do an escrow. out of dozens of sales this year, only spend.com had an escrow from huntingmoon fyi. most buyers just do their business with us and get their domain that day. we also offer lease-to-own, which sailingmoon can let listers opt in for. we handle all the leads and are closers, but if a seller helps then everyone wins so it is all a matter of circumstances on each domain or package. Full Terms will be posted at launch and also emailed to the first listers 2 weeks prior to launch. SailingMoon's launch is slated for early October and is on schedule. Included in the terms, is a best practices/guidelines as well. We want to solicit the best combo of domains and responsible domain owners to ensure that the site closes sales. Buyers appreciate the confidence they get when the word is out that when you need a domain, one can come to a place and get one hassle-free. There will be no hidden crap in the terms and it is all straight-forward fyi. Also, the processing fees are included in the % so that is not an additional markdown.

Good job, Evan!

BTW, can you tell Paris to do something stupid again this month? Something having to do with being a hotel heiress would be best. Thanks!
