while I agree there is a lot of hype and paranoia over the threats....the US has always been under threat...just that last year, it was finally brought home...how many attacks have been thwarted and not told? The avearge American would shit their pants if we were specifically told every terror that awaited them...look at what happened with the Anthrax scare of last year...I'm sorry, but there are just some things the average American citizen (and of other counries too) don't need to know...that, in and of itself, can be a vital part of national security...how many top secret missions do you think the military engages in, that even when they accomplish their task, they can't revel in the role of a hero....
