You know, when I was a kid and teenager I probably would have been able to give you a long list of celebs, etc. However, now I can't really think of anybody famous that I have a strong desire just to meet. If I met them as a course of normal life and got on with them than great but I don't feel a draw to simply share the air with somebody based on fame.

Yea, I'm feeling the same way after reading the answers. For me, I'd pick my grandma (still alive near a century, feisty as hell); no need to elaborate for the rest, but for me, that's what I'd do.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be pretty cool to sit at a table with some influential people; even Jesus. But what would you really ask them? How do you think they'd be as a dinner guest? And just because they're in the "spotlight", does that make them any sort of influential figure on you?
