lol

I'm one of those people that feels an American citizen should be able to own any weapon his mind can imagine...

But even I think buying weapons over the internet is a bit over the top... certain things should definitely be regulated, and in person.

You must have been shitting a brick.

You must have been shitting a brick.

You can buy a weapon (gun) online, but they have to send it to a licensed shop that you typically pay a fee to (like $35 or so). They do the required ck with the FBI and accept any application that may be required by local law.

Where I live, to get a hand gun, you have to go to the county police department and apply to buy. That means pay a fee, fill out a form, get a arrest record check, and if they approve they mail you a purchase certificate which you must use within X days (it was either 10 or 30?). Typically, you've bought the gun first and use it the same or next day. This procedure, pain in the ass that it is, is required for each and every handgun purchase. That's wether you bought the gun at the store or on the web. Takes 'em a week to 10 days to get your application back in the mail for a handgun buy.

Before you have your arrest record check which there was a fee for too, make sure there are no bench warrents. Saw a guy get arrested when he was doing his arrest record check. He needed it to get a job of some sort. The warrant was traffic related, he looked surprised as they cuffed him and hauled his ass off to jail.

Ahh... yeah.... I imagine that kinda stuff would be set up. Thanks for pointing it out.

I was thinking more of the mail-order kinda situation where you get the gun dropped off at your anonymous doorstep.... that'd be kinda whack, imho.

Or you could just buy a gun from a friend or anyone for that matter as a cash transaction and skip all the red tape. Then the gun ends up not being registered with the local police, so they won't know about it. There is good news bad news about that.

Think there are some states that will sell a gun over the counter same day. Don't know how the laws apply to out of state buyers. Here, you have to wait till the next day to pickup a riffle.

Don't drive through Illinois with a handgun or without if you have a concealed carry permit. If they figure out you have that concealed carry permit, they are gonna want to search you car. Some states designate right to carry on your drivers license. For concealed carry apply in Utah or Florida, then you have multi-state privilege.
