controlling Tv reciever from upstairs...
i got sattelite dish network reciever downstears, and i got tv upstairs... i set it up that, whatever is on downstears shows up on upstairs tv, but how can I make it so I can controll receiver downstears with a remote upstears ?

You get a remote re transmitter. One end goes downstairs, the other upstairs facing towards what you want to control. You point your control in to the downstairs end, it transmits it up through the upstairs module.

Most electron stores sell them. Just make sure you don't get an infrared one or anything that requires a line of sight. Radio frequency(RF) ones work good.
Most sat/cable company's also offer units now that can separately control 2 TV's from just one unit with RF remotes. Can watch separate show on each TV from one unit that way. Might want to call them and see about upgrading your box.

I have one of those.
They work sometimes, but not always. And you have to stick ( with velcro thing ) the emitter onto the infrared receiver. So on, and off, and on ... Beat way: get another receiver .... I have four ( ![]() PS: if you want the kit, 15..00 plus transport ( they sell about 60 to 80 ... )
