About Google and "Report paid links" .. in case not everyone knows about this

I keep see on "buy and sell" , the site name, the PR and the link price, the ones who sell should read this again:

Quote:
Google uses a number of methods to detect paid links, including algorithmic techniques. We also welcome information from our users. If you know of a site that buys or sells links, please tell us by filling out the fields below. We'll investigate your submissions, and we'll use your data to improve our algorithmic detection of paid links.
it's kinda fucked up this "selling links" thing so i thought it's better to remind u about this

Well statcounter.com fall from pr10 to pr9(and they do charge 2200 euro for one link monthly) and their forum from pr9 to pr5.

What Google wants to say it's not so important , important it's what they will do...

that just sounds like natural changes, google either bans you or they dont. devaluing the links aint gonna do squat as people will still buy links

thats kinda what i mean in that they sell and buy links, the only difference is they run the ads thru script so they wont actually get counted as a "backlink" , but all that means is " its ok to buy banner links but not text links?" or more importantly "it's ok to buy from google but not from others in the same fashion"

What about paid inclusion in directories? The only way they could devalue a paid link is if they modify the algorithm that determines the number of 1-way/reciprocal links counted and the value of these links that determine the PR of a site. Who wants to do that much math for 1 site??

Only with human intervention can they probably do something about this and how can they not screw it up when so many PhDs are involved with the code?

Just a thought.

phpbb.com is prob the highest pr site i know that actively sells backlinks . if such a huge site like phpbb is doing it and is not banned , seems strange they would go after little guys
