I've been online since 1988. Way before Internet. But it was the same bullshit on BBS. People would write messages, a community would form. Then the bullshit would start. People bitching each other. Groups would form.

Then there was a GT (Get Together).

And u know what? I was amazed to see those people that were so cruel and acting like whining bitches between each other on the BBS, suddenly become so friendly in real person. Maybe it was the beer. I don't know. But I have noticed something, we feel so strong and powerful in front of a monitor (or even in a car, I don't know why we feel so safe)

14 years later, it's still the same. So please, cut the bullshit right now. Have a beer and enjoy life.

Your rant reminds me of a gripe that I have. Have you ever noticed that nearly everyone says that they have been online since before the web? I was there, I don't remember there being that many other folks. Is there something wrong with saying "I first logged on in 1998"?? And I'm not denying your claim of being online since '88, it just sent me off on a rant of my own.

My first online experiece was Qlink... it was like 10 cents a minute or some shit back then... I used that for a few weeks before a friend of mine introduced me to BBSing! I wanted to be a SysOp and run a board too, so I bought a copy of All American BBS and have been addicted to being online ever since...
