Need a new Video Camera - GoFuckYourself.com

I am looking to get a new video camera. Something in the 500$ range, that can produce a 700 pixel video image or better when capturing from the camera to the computer. Right now I have an old JVC VHSC camera, and only get a 320x240 screen.

this is for family use, but I want nice quality videos.

Who has what???

Try Sony DCR-DVD405 , I own one and it's great, 2MP for video and 3 MP for still iimages.

if it is just something simple like that try ebay and get a nice used one for half the price.

If you can go up to $820 you can get a nice AVCHD cam at circuit city. Records on SD cards instead of DV tapes, so no moving parts or dropouts. Been playing with it for a month or so. Both the video and video grabs are really nice from it.

The reason I am looking, is so that I can video my son more as he grows up. And while that is a good idea, I want something new I think, just in case something goes wrong with it, I can just return it .
