Some of ya may know that in order to kick my gambling addicition ive take up exercising as my new addiciton to replace it with. In the last 9 months ive lost around 20 pounds. Not much really.. But ive gained a lot of muscle.

Just like my gambling I go hard and extreme.

I just got done with three organized bike rides two long distance rides and one race..

Im doing a Iron Man next week..

Im still fat yeah I know.. But im getting fucking strong and I feel great.

Its something I used to do some 7 years ago..

You probably rememeber some of the old pics I used to post of the "Family" in the cage matches..

Well no more cage matches for me. But ive been training. On the mat.

Doing submission fighting. (no contact) All grapple and ground fighting.

Too old and wife wont let me do full contact.

Very cool! Do you also weight train since you do a lot of cardio? I know that people who do too much cardio usually get a higher BF % for the same weight because they don't lift weights.

Yeah I actually do more weight training (strength training) than cardio..

I have a personal trainer who I see three times a week. We work on the strenght and conditioning of my legs...

He works them out to the fatigue....

Then on my own I train 2-3 times a week with running and riding..

50-60 mile rides.

Its a balance. But the strength and muscle has to come from the gym.

The work load is about 60/40..

60 being the weight and strength part.

40 or less being the cardio.

You'll get ripped within months at this pace. You said you also do grappling which is very demanding. Do you roll with a gi or no-gi?

Also, did you make changes to your diet? If you don't have a nutritionist, I would suggest you taking a look at John Berardi's stuff. He has all the right tools for optimal nutrition. http://www.johnberardi.com/

Hopefully you'll post new pics in a year or so! I have to give you major props as there's not a lot of people who have the self-discipline or strength to do what you are doing.

Congrats! I used to race bikes (both mountain and road) for years, and they were some of the best years of my life. Definitely one of the coolest sports to participate in, and a great fucking workout.
