DH Apology: http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=753751
Today's word is: ContritionOriginally posted by DrinkingHardestI'd Like To Apologize To Teen Mega Cash
We made a bad mistake and jumped the gun...
We rarely have fraud of this significance and we really should have done more due diligence before making accusations about your program being involved. At the time with the information we had on hand, everything pointed to the program owner. In reality it appears that the program owner was innocent of the fraud and some webmaster painted his program as being the culprit.
I'd like to thank Wiredguy and cabezacaca for the leads they have given us to help us catch the fraudster. We intend to continue our investigation on this individual. In lieu of this fraud, we will be tightening up all our credit card processing procedures and do much more strenuous screening on new clients. We would also encourage teen mega cash to do their own investigating as obviously this fraudster has targetted your program.
I'd like to offer any affiliates who wish to promote Teen Mega Cash, any advertising we have at GTS, Submitpasses, Buyblogtraffic, Console Broker at cost. Devin our GM will be in touch with the owner of TMC, we fully intend to make good in light of this situation.
I am a man of my word, I said in the other thread I would apologize if I was in the wrong and I am in the wrong...

calling the post linked above "contrition" is what I meant was strange ...
There was no apology that I could find in that post. It was a mere summation (linked for ADG Webdude's benefit) of events, with a clever marketing ploy added for good measure.
Actions like this in the real (brick and mortar) business world get people kissing the carpet in their car trunks ... but its good to see that a bit of free traffic and a few drinks @ Internext will solve any online disagreement ...
Webmasters are such a friendly bunch!

Phone verifying these days doesn't do much. Any scammer can go signup for a VoIP line at skype or wherever. Scanning the back and front of the card just deters the lazy scammers, its pretty simple to photoshop an image.GTs should have phone verified, any large order over 1000$ with any web host they phone verify, or at least call the bank belonging to the card, then this wouldnt have happened.
I know a few places I have placed some orders in the past week, for a small amount the charge goes through, But i had to call the 800# give them invoice, etc, and they call back to verify from the phone # listed on the card, smart thinking.
The best way of protecting against fraud when dealing with very high risk transactions is to pull an LX report and ask them one of many random questions..."eg, what was the name of your youngest sister's husband...what street did you grow up on" and so on.Comment
