More doggy problems.

So.....I slept on the couch last night with Cayman at my side. He could hardly stand or walk when we got home. Right now he is able to get up and walk around with a lot more ease but he's still struggling and will be for a long time.

At 6am I received a phone call from the owner of the dog that had previously been attacked. She was crying and told me that the two pits had again jumped her fence and this time they killed her 16 week old puppy.

I've been dealing with animal control all day long and we're all over this like stink on a GFY troll.

A local news station sent a camera crew out and they interviewed the husband of the lady who's dog was killed.

I've got piles of paperwork, pics of everything, and documents galore.

Oh....Also it turns out that this guys mother withheld information from an attack back in February. She refused to say who her son was or where he lived. The dogs attacked while she was watching them because her son was out of town.

So.....Now I am including his mother in the law suit as this whole thing could have possibly been avoided had she not hid the identity and whereabouts of the dogs and her son.

Fuck all, the news will make some shit happen. Those dogs will be put down as soon as the animal control gets their hands on them. Those fuck head owners should face some serious charges...

What a nightmare it is in your neighborhood.

Good luck.

Yes. And he's just happy to see me since I have been gone all day. If he is more than 5 feet from me then he starts crying until I move closer. Unfortunately he's more or less confined to his blanked and some old sheets I have set out for him since I just had the carpets replaced the day before the attack. Can't have his wounds draining onto the carpet so....

Right now I have him with me at the studio and he's sleeping.

you see the owners are to blame not the breed. those dogs do need to be put down, and i hope you take every cent from the owners, but don't blame the dogs for doing what dogs do. blame the owners for not doing anything. I hope your pup gets better quick.

No... I don't think that's what he's saying at all. The dogs aren't being sent out to kill. They do it. The owners allow it.

They're both to blame.

I can't believe the owners continue to let these dogs roam around the streets. If it was me I'd personally kill them. Someone needs to do it.

Since this happened, I've been pondering. I look at my dogs...four shih tzus and a corgy/lab mix.

One of my shih tzus, an old bitch, attacks other dogs. Fortunately, she weighs 10 lbs and can easily be controlled.

My male shih tzu attached himself to Cayman's hind leg one day.
Fortunately, my Bandit is a pansy and Cayman is good natured.

What makes a dog go after another dog?

I know there are all kinds of theories about the breed, the owners; but, my dogs are the most pampered animals on the face of the earth. They own us.

I'm sure there are many people here who know exactly what I'm talking about...sometimes the dogs are better loved than the kids. My son surely knows his place in life as the playtoy for the puppies. It's just the way of things.

So what makes dogs attack? For real? I've been reading stories all day about the golden retriever, allegedly the most loving, kid friendly dog who ate a two year old....

The lab who mauled the baby. The german shepherd who picked the baby up by its head to take to the parents. The American pit bull who killed a baby. The, believe it or not, beagle who ate through a fence and killed two dachshounds.

Many of these dogs do come from loving homes. Certainly, my dogs were never bred for war or protection. They are shih tzus. They were bred to be adored and they know it. Yet, mine tried to take out Cayman.

We can attack and defend all we want here. But, let's not lose sight of what happened yesterday.

A sweet dog was mauled and damaged, both physically and psychologically.
That's what's going on here. Two dogs were permitted to run free and kill and these dogs have killed before. The blame game may start with the owners and go all the way up to the state and its dog laws....but in the end, Cayman got hurt. Badly. This is a very sad day....

Not to mention losing his balls.....gotta tell you, Aaron, when he comes off the drugs and goes to lick them, he's gonna be asking you some pointed questions.

No, the dogs DO need to be put down. Unfortunately they have been raised wrong and attack unprovoked. This is obviously the owner's fault (and personally, as I stated before, they need to be put down too...) but at this point, the dogs ARE dangerous.

Aaron, I have a dog sitter who takes care of the pugs when I go out of town. She just comes 2-3 times a day (usually 2 - 3 or more if one of them is having issues) but there is also a lady who will come and actually dog sit in your home while you're gone. The good ones are completely bonded. Look around and see if there's someone who can take care of Cayman while you're gone.

you prove my point more with every post. your the reason your dog attacks others. loving a dog and letting it walk all over you are two different things.
we already know a dog got hurt and thats the sad part, even sadder is 2 more are gonna die because of their owners. look in the mirror and thank god you own a dog too small to hurt caymen cuase if it was bigger you would be getting sued right now and losing your best friend.

IMO, there's a HUGE difference between "fighting" and tearing apart a dog.

My four can get into HORRIFIC fights - usually over food - but even though it's loud and sounds like they are killing each other, in the 10 years I've had my oldest two, none has EVER HAD ONE SINGLE INJURY. It's almost like a rough play. They've also never attacked a stranger's dog. I guess it's like when I used to beat up my little brother

The dogs that attacked Cayman seemed out for blood, not just having a disagreement. Big difference, IMO.

Ive been following the story, and its pretty rediculous. Any responsible owner would have no choice but to put there dog or dogs down after the first incident. Im pretty amazed youve contained yourself this well. I would be at that persons house day and night. Im glad the local media is getting involved...

I also do want to comment, many of the most popular dog breeds are some of the most dangerous. If im not mistaken, I believe that Lab attacks are actually the most commonly reported. The truth is, if you dont socialize your dogs, your not being a responsible owner. I spent a lot of time and effort socializing my German Shepard Mix (blitz) even when he had problems as a pup.

Dont own a dog if your not willing to do the work.

Justin

Those dogs should of been put down a long time ago. Im not into animal cruelty but those dogs are dangerous son of a bitches and even their owners deserve punishment. It boggles the mind how the government control office can let this happen over and over again. If it was me I wouldn't of handled it legally by that point but I'm not as mature as others yet probably because I'm younger.

Greyhounds... runners. Coon Hounds... trackers. Retrievers... retrievers. Labs... Hunters. Shepherds... herders. My point is simple, each dog has been created for a purpose. It's not rocket science and even the most thick headed of you should be able to understand that the SOLE purpose of the modern PIT BULL was as a fighting dog to kill other small animals. That's the sole reason they are popular among the class of people that own them, the thought of them being a "Bad Ass" or "Tough" dog. You take a fucking tiger and tame it... do a couple magic shows around it and one day it's going to turn and bite you head off... Hmmm... breed or owners fault? Wake the fuck up. Anyone defending this dog breed is a total moron in my book. Nuff said.

exactly! ofcourse one race has other characterics than the other, but if pittbulls are raised correctly they dont go attacking shit all the time. It is 100% the owners fault for not raising their dogs correctly.

Pit bulls and pit-bull crosses (not always easy to distinguish) have caused more than a third of the nation's dog-bite fatalities since 1979 and a comparable proportion of serious injuries. The rising number of attacks, and the unease pit bulls and other dangerous dogs cause in public spaces, have spurred many municipalities to crack down with legislation ranging from muzzle laws to bans on pit bulls and certain other breeds.

you dont know what the hell youre talking about. It's a race. If they are raised properly they dont go around and kill other dogs, thats bullshit. Wiping out a complete dog race is like wiping out a human race because the violence percentage of that race is bigger than other races.

Why dont you go to church more often and pray for it seems like it is all comming back to you now!
I would have to agree with you completely here. I'm sure it sucks his dog was attacked and all but I would have to say this is nobodies fault but his own. If you are going to be lazy and unattentive, what do you expect? This AaronM clown seems to be a big baby always whining and complaining about his problems on webmaster forums. His posts consist of grammar corrections, constant complaining/sympathy begging, and badgering of non-bro club members. What a wonderful display of karma here folks.

That's sad. Poor puppy. Those pits need to be put down. They are killing machines. No thanks to the owners who trained them no doubt or a previous owner if there was any. Keep us posted.

They're both to blame.
The owners to blame, not the dogs.

I am sorry about Cayman Aaron. I am having the opposite problem. My German Shepherd has started to turn dog aggressive. Yes she has been trained, this is new to her. So I have to start muzzling her for walks. The vet is also having me take her to a dog therapist and she will be on put on dog medication similar to Prozac. Owners need to handle aggression in their pets as soon as it starts to happen. If not it will just get worse. I love Lola but I am not going to let her attack other dogs. I am hoping the therapy and medication will help. Keep us posted on how Cayman is doing.

i commend you for such restraint AaronM.

If another dog did that to skufty I'm honestly not sure I could be as restrained as you are right now.

make SURE you get these fuckhead owners legally.

I know of pit bulls which have killed elderly people who were just go for a walk.. they are trained to kill. I won't collect papers but buy a gun and kill them.

This is fucking beyond a joke. It has to stop now !

I've been so pissed off reading what you have wrote here these past few days. Fuck knows how you are handling it.

I went through some amount of shit when 2 assholes deliberately killed my cat a while back with their 2 dogs. We had the police at my place, the RSPCA, and countless people were know who were willing to actually kill the owners (no i'm not joking).

Some people are just plain scum...
