hey, Ive been reading about panama and costa rica after a friend went there, and I was quite interested in the real estate boom.

be careful, because it seems to be getting over heated, and some major projects have been cancelled:

You would like Costa Rica. There are tons of gay guys there. Mainly from Canada.

There was a huge amount of excitement when the "boom" started - something 375 new highrise condo projects and a number of gated communities. A handful have failed. Some were scams from the start, and others were simply mismanaged. But, most are moving along, albeit somewhat slowly in many cases.

Check out http://www.thepanamapages.com - a blog by a guy who lives their part of the year. It's a fun read usually, and he talks about everything about life in Panama.
