Okay so you are comparing the skill of a baseball player to the skill of a football player. Baseball like any sport takes skill, of course, but lets break it down. I might have oversimplified but here goes..
Baseball:
Batting
Running
Tactical eye
Catching
Turn-based action
Football:
Ball technique (dribbling, running with ball, heading, recieving)
Passing technique
Shooting technique
Defense tactics
Offence tactics
Tackling
Non-stop action based
Overall to me it seems that football demands more of a player than baseball. I mean, a baseball player can be fat and still play in the high leauge.

There's a lot more to baseball then just the physical manuevers the players make. There is non stop strategy involved. Having detailed scouting reports on each player, knowing where he hits a majority of the team to shift your fielders, knowing all the pitches he can or can't hit. There is a lot more thinking involved in baseball than you seem to think.
Oh, and only pitchers and first baseman can be overweight, everyone else needs to be able to move too quick to be large, plus you need to bring something to the table. Can't just be fat, need to hit the long ball or throw 100 mph.
