Hello , iam wondering about buying this SAMSUNG Syncmaster 22'' 226BW, and my question is - if any of you is using this samsung, or any other with wide screen, how it works with photoshop and other gf applications? Is this worth of buying ?

If you are really serious abour graphic design I would buy a CRT monitor, its bigger but better quality than LCD yet... and really cheap. I got a Dell 24" for just 100€ in Ebay, and working great.

I don't understand the logic behind designing for the web, but optimizing it for equipment that nobody has but you ...

Who cares if your monitor shows 00ffee exactly as intended, every single viewer will be seeing an ever so slightly different color ... if you are going to get a top of the line monitor, also keep an old shitty one next to you for a reality check!

If you're doing print work, you're better off with at CRT monitor.

Great monitor, wouldnt hesitate to buy it! If you have the means, I would buy 2 for dual screen ... or at least get a smaller, cheaper one for your palettes and stuff.

For everyone saying about CRT's being better for design work ...

thats simply not the case anymore ... my screen ... a 22" TFT, accurately represents color. You just have to, like any screen, set the color balances etc to suit your needs.

I'm using the 19" widescreen (sammy 931BW), but i always check my designs on a 17" crt monitor here. ;)

No LCD accurately represents color, they can't even produce a true black, so this statement is 100% false, but, feel free to use whatever you'd like.

ok now i do not know what to do, i have read a lot about this moinitor on forums, and most of ppl are happy with this monitor, there are some unhappy ofcourse. I asked in some computer service companies too, and some toled me that this samsung is great, other that this is a waist of money and sugested me something diferent, i did know that buying a LCD monitor is soo hard

It's not hard ... pick the one you like & buy it.

The more you ask the more confused you will be. Designers can't agree on anything & obviously computer companies are going to recommend what they get a commission on.

You picked this monitor for a reason in the first place over others so what's the big deal?! It might blow up in a years time when the warranty is void & you'll be shopping again so you may as well just get on with it!
