gotys, why not just make a TGP2 site, crank out a fuckload of TGP2 galleries of your own, and see how that goes?

TGP2 has even more aggressive advertising than your example galleries, and you would use even less pics, which would spread out the ontent even farther (more bang for the buck). The biggest downfall of TGP2 was the lack of traffic - since you control one gigantic site, and several smaller sites, coming up with 10-20k for a TGP2 site should not be too hard for you. When I had a 15k TGP2 site, it made nice money. I just ran out of my 404 traffic to feed the sites.

Give it a thought. You wouldn't be out there all alone, trying to sell a new concept. You'd just be breathing new life into an existing marketing scheme that could use some fresh traffic that isn't skimmed at 60%.

I hear this all the time.

Things are being changed and modified to make Tgp2 into what it was meant to be. More relaxed advertising rules. Most sites will share the same set of rules which will be automatically updated on all site if there is a rules change.

There were many problems and a lot of BS that popped up because of greed and ego. Well that is gone for the most part.
We are 95% fat free. And hope to turn Tgp2 into a lean mean green money machine.

So no Tgp2 is not dead by far.

TGP2's first year is over. It's failed to live up to a whole bunch of hype and hot air that was passed out of various and sundry orifices by various and sundry folks, many of whom are now no longer to be found anywhere near tgp2. A lot of people thought they were going to get rich quick, and got pretty pissed off when they realized the amount of hot air they'd bought; they're gone too.

It had to fail at first. TGP2 was passed off as some kind of "save the porn" thing - the "movement" was going to cause a "revolution" that would make all the webmasters millionaires, and probably save life on earth as we know it in the process. What a bunch of shit. TGP2 is nothing more, and nothing less, than another way of marketing dirty pictures.

That being said, tgp2 is still doing what many people think we ought to be doing - putting out fewer free pictures, and increasing the marketing allowed on galleries. There are an increasing number of small to middlin' tgps accepting 5-picture galleries. There are folks trying to figure out the same puzzle that we are ALL trying to figure out - traffic.

TGP2 is not a success - yet. But it ain't dead either.

1. Not free hardcore content. Let's face it, the newbie who wants a quick buck, starts off with free content. Just don't offer any hardcore ...
2. Content providers should keep an eye on the sites that their content will be used on. Eventually even sell only softcore sets with few pink for gallery makers (for less $$$) and sell the full hardcore sets only for approved AVS/paysites. That way it could be monitored where the content goes.

As far as I know, some providers do it already, it should be introduced on a larger scale though.

I get less than 1% of my traffic from TGPs.

TGP owners think traffic equals money. It doesn't.

I would rather trade with steffies little TGP (as she described it) than some of the big ones - as she probably has more original traffic than the traffic that gets traded 900 times through scripts.

The one TGP I do run (running more soon) - if I had 500,000 visitors would make $40,000 A DAY. It is a crappy TGP - I wouldn't even post it here, as you guys would all laugh at it.

Of course, I don't have anywhere near that much traffic, but the traffic I do feed it with is quality. I don't trade with anyone, I don't have hitbotters.

I KNOW WHERE my traffic comes from - and it isn't TGPs. I'd much rather have a listing on Persian Kitty and get 5,000 visitors a day for a few days - than 100,000 from a TGP.

People would be better of doing free sites in most cases than TGPs.

with 99.999% freeloaders being jerked thru 3-10 "surfer friendly" tgps (with 2 year old archives) and hundreds of newbie galleries with 20 hardcore pics and 2 small banners on free hosting, "tgp3" wont save you, and version 4, 5 and 6 wont either.

as long as banner and gallery spots are still bought, the big players will not change their plans. and seriously: why should they?
