Have a system just like the color codes for terror alerts you see on tv. Each person who gets a drivers license will have a similar color code put on their drivers license. Each color will represent the level of how risky the person is to commit a terroristic act based upon their criminal background.

When a person goes to get a drivers license a criminal background check is done and the corosponding color will be put on their dl. Example:

Red is for someone with several felonies.
Orange for misdemeanors.
Yellow for traffic violations.
ect...

It will also help police officers when they pull you over. If they pull someone over for a light out they might just give them a warning without running their license and let them go. Now if the person pulled out a license that is RED they obvioulsy know to run the license.

Now with the color coded license every place like airports, sports arenas can put all these people in certain areas that have RED licenses.

I'm not saying put them in certain spots that part was a joke. It mainly gives awareness to security. If you were a security guard would you watch a family with a good license or a crowd of guys like The Walrus with RED licenses? Chances are that crowd of people with RED licenses will cause a problem over the family. Would be very good for passports too I never traveled to another country and dont know how passports work.

Everything isn't black and white in life but it gives you an idea of the type of people. Just an idea thats all people get them doesn't meen it will work.

They currently run all licenses. Your system allows criminals with a green sticker who haven't been caught yet to get away.

I'm all for alerting the public of people who are threats though. If you get a DUI, you get a red license plate. If you use bars to find women to rape, you must notify the owners of your conviction before entering so they can decide if they want you in there or not. If you use your business to scam, you must notify all future clients of your past behavior. Anyone who has a problem with this sort of stuff is probably guilty themselves.

The color coding is not to stop people from doing stuff its meant to alert.

I would not let this thread resort to name calling, specially of certain words that without proof can get one banned.

First there should always be a presumption of innocence. Having a national, yes national or it would not work ID system that showed colors or numbers indicating how little or much of a potential criminal you happen to be.

Keep in mind how often you show your ID everywhere as well. Would you get treated different at a bank, what about buying alcohol or smokes?

Then how would this help national security other than track and scarlet letter people whom have broken the law in the past. Oh I know, it would also increase the fake ID business to boot.

Obviously you can make it for recent violations depending on what it is. After a certain amount of years you get your license changed if you stay out of trouble.
