Is pinging really that beneficial to a blog?
title says it all pretty much, i've got a couple blogs hitting up the list with ping schedule organizer running, and they don't seem to do that much better than any blogs i have that aren't. is there really much benefit to pinging at all?

I have a large ping list, I never see anything come from those sites. But I'm not a blog expert so I don't know what's really going on. I just blog for shits and giggles.

By itself no... but if you are a stickler for detail, and you fine tune everything on your blog... pinging is a great added benefit in getting some attention into your site.

i don't ping for shit and i'm usually listed within 48 hours. i'm not sure how much quicker than that I could hope to be. i just would liek to hear someone who swears by the pinging process to give me a good explanation of why or how it is beneficial to them...

for certain terms I get so much traffic from ping sites it amazes me sometimes, but then with average every day terms I get nothing
ping sites are like search engines now, they are hard to get traffic for generic normal terms, but when you find a term that is more "refined" you can milk a cash cow I remember when "little lupe" was HUGE on the ping sites like techn orati, I was getting 50-150 click throughs a day...now barely anything because she is saturated |
