Get your porsche suv today!

http://money.cnn.com/2002/08/20/pf/a...reut/index.htm

I think its a pretty dumb idea. Porsche is known for their fast exotic sports cars, bringing an suv into their line of cars just throws them a name like "average"

As Altima said it's not just any average SUV, but the fastest of its kind.
I read in a car mag that surprisingly many Porsche owners also own an SUV, so Porsche apparently want their share of that market as well.

The design on the other hand, I don't like at all!

Anyone ever see the Lamborghini SUV - it was back in the 80s I think, it was on a TV show once as well. Hunter S Thompson wrote about owning one in one of his novels as well.

Really Bad Ass and way before its time. They should bring it back with some updates since those things are so damn trendy now.

The Porsche SUV isnt very attractive at all, The boxer was a great ride, the Carerra is my personal favorite for them....

From owning 2 SUV's and getting incredibly tired of looking for parking spots for these behemoths, I would much rather go back to having the original SUV Jeep Wranlger Sahara

Never heard of a Ferrari SUV... but I know that the Sultan of Brunei once had Pininfarina design a station wagon based on the 456M - it looks absolutely incredible - together with the Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon the best looking station car IMHO.

I couldn't find a picture of the Ferrari, only a small model car: http://www.ferrarimodelsclub.it/ta06_027.htm
A Danish car mag test drove one of the only 6 (?) specimens a while ago and took some great pics of it. The Sultan bought 5 of them and the last one was for sale at that time.

Yep I see what you mean, but why only stick to a few basic models? It's all about developing. It would be stupid of Porsche not to take advantage of the growing SUV market, so to make the fatstest and most exclusive SUV seems like a good idea to me.
Lamborghini started out making tractors you know and have even made several offroad models http://www.lambocars.com/lm/lm.htm

I agree. It dilutes their brand. The whole SUV craze will probably ebb away as demographics change, but the need for speed [read: sportscar] will always be around.

fucking A - I saw one up close and personal. I used to have an account with an importer, and got there one time after they just got a big delivery of about 15-20 Countachs'. When I was talking to the rep, I saw this big bulky truck like looking thing with really aggressive looking profile/bodywork - the Lambo Cheetah I think it was called. Fucking thing was awesome - total luxury inside, V12 motor, - and a fucking water fountain in it, too. Huge ass tires, and the rep told me it would do 140 MPH+ on packed sand or dirt.
