A whole lot of kids disappear and get murdered in "safe" areas...one of the last places I'd let my kids walk around in is in a suburban neighborhood...I have two girls so I'm just paranoid...I won't let them out by themselves until they're old enough to drive.

I remember one time when I was pumping gas in my old neighborhood in Ohio and I saw a woman leave her kids in the car with the car running, her purse and everything in the car while she went into the store...When she came out, I told her, "If we were in a white neighborhood, your car AND your kids would be gone"...

All she could do is look down to the ground, get in her car, and drive off.

Judging by what i see around, my view is not the average. However, you raised your kids 30 years ago or so ago. Things are a bit different now. I didn't blame the younger generation, the last part of my post was just showing that things have changed from generation to generation...as far as baby boomers...I'm 40 and part of Generation X.
