How to get out of a room reservation
Okay, here's a tip for all of you, I came up with this one myself (although I'm sure it's been done before). I use it a lot.
So most hotels make you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours prior to check in or they charge you the first night and/or a cancellation fee. To get out of this, you simply call the hotel up and ask them to confirm your itinerary - they'll tell you the dates, and then you get upset and tell them your flight gets in the next day, and that the reservation was supposed to be for that day. Just ask them to modify your reservation to check in the next day. Then, a few hours later (try not to talk to the same person), simply call back and cancel the reservation (it got moved a day forward, so you still have time to cancel before the 24 hour deadline kicks in) Well, hope this helps someone. It's saved me thousands of dollars in rooms I had to cancel ![]()
