:2cents Survey...How Many People Have Vista Now???

I do...but only because I bought a new laptop recently and it came with it on...I wouldn't have bought it yet if I still had my old PC. So I am interested to see what everyone else is doing?

I have the 64 bit vista ultimate on my main computer, and I haven't had any major issues. All my 'main' programs work without a problem, like adobe products and sony vegas etc.
Unified stats doesn't, and textpad 5 gives some permission error, but works fine after that.

On my PC network I am running XP. However, I have laptop I just bought that came with it. I'm finding I have no problems at all. All my programs work and it's very stable.

I haven't had any "major" problems...just a few minor things I think could be tweaked...but overall not too bad IMHO

I had a 2 year old toshibia laptop with xp pro .. over 2 years of being on NON-STOP the entire time .. i had 2 crashes .. and with this new dual core ..blah blah screamer with Vista .. I have had 10 or more crashes over 3 weeks ... and fricken drivers and stuff short everywhere .. nope..not impressed at all .. but i was the exactally the same way switching from fricken 98...2000....to XP..so who knows I expect it to be up to speed in about 2 years ..

I havn't run into any life changing problems, theres just a couple smaller programs I can't run, and it's a memory hog. I would run XP on it but the XP driver support for this laptop sucks donkey balls.

Vista is now, on my PC... stable as a rock ... anyone who thinks XP is more stable doesn't know the ins and outs of the system

Do some research and you'll find out that the only reason your systems are creashing is because you have hardware made by lazy driver manufacturers.

Fact is ... Vista by it's nature, is a stable system (the way the kernel works with other parts of the system etc), and since I had my initial problems getting it running and getting used to it, I'm happy as I could possibly be now.

The new search system is beatifully slick and speedy (realtime almost), the new folders, the layouts, the thumbnails, the desktop... everything about it is more geared towards usability. It's excellent.

Vista is better than XP by some large way. I think a lot of the people hating on it have probably just read a PC website review or nerd/geek news site.

Had it preinstalled on my laptop.

I hate this shit.

As posted above, I need STABLE DRIVERS.

This shit crashes all the time and there are no stable drivers

I have it since the day it came out and haven't had any problems, it's been very stable for me and everything works just fine.

is used by all our crew with no to little compatibility problems(only at the early stages). hardware and software firms began catching up with vista so compatibilty problems are far more less for the software we use. ultimate and mostly business versions are installed on our machines. I think (and pray), like every other windows before, it'll get better and better after SP1

Unified Stats works fine for me on x64 ultimate.

As far as others complaining about instability, my last reboot was 64 days ago.

XP here, works fine for building sites and checking stats, I don't see any need to use Vista at the moment.
