				 | So i talked to my friend about SEO... My friend is saying that he has recommended one of his dad's wealthy firends to a company to get some SEO done. They want to optimise a two word phrase that is not widely contested. The competitor site at no.1 on google has a PR of 2 and the site of the dad's wealthy firends has a PR of 7. The SEO company wants USD$4k to do the optimisation. Fark, is that what it costs?!?!?! That sounds like a massive ripoff considering that the site is already PR7!!!

				 | If $4k is too much, do it yourself. Seriously. |

				 | Sounds like he should learn something about onpage optimization. PR has nothing to do with ranking, but is a good indicator for link strength. So I's try to save the money, do some onpage SEO and spend the rest for new links....(can't hurt ;) )

				 | Hi montel I have had many PR0 s within the top 10 positions of Google, such beating out many PR8 s and PR9 s done by professional companies who only do SEO !!! Everyone makes comments about how PR overrides positions in Google so they try to get the highest possible PR through any means... The issue should not be PR, Google Page Rank; rather getting and keeping good position(s) within the different search engines... Google being number one ! Tell your friend to invest in buying some traffic... spend a few hundred on some good quality traffic and get 500,000 - 1,000,000 uniques... The name of the game is to earn $$$ not PR !!! Later, |

				 | If you think PR is a direct correlation of a top ranking, then you should spend the $4k. WG

				 | 4k is a good deal if they help maintain the listing, and even then its a little too good of a deal personally i would charge a lump sum + a monthly fee to keep it optimized
