Lane,

Run dood! that's all I can say. Run as much as you can. 2.5 to 3 miles per day 4 to 5 times a week if you can, abs workout, and drink a lot of water... that's it.

I actually learned this from Dan Majerle, NBA player with the phoenix suns back then. and it's been working for me.

getting into the habit of running could be tough, but once you master breathing (which I know you can as a swimmer), you can run the 3 miles no prob. you will notice hella difference after 60 days on your weight an energy level.

Don't cut down on carbs, you still energy and stamina, instead cut down on sugar.. and for snacks, while you coding, get like a bowl of grapes, and a glass of water.

btw, have you ever tried KIMONOS condoms? ultra thin latex based condoms (non latex like NaturalLamb only protects against pregnancy, not STDs). Hella sensation doo, better than whatever i've been using so far.

Get yourself a fucking machine. It really works, I became new man with this stuff. No diet or crap pills. Few min exercise per day will do the trick.

You've had a lot of advice from a lot of people here and all I can add is this:

Different schemes work for different people. My boss has just cut out extra snacking, no added exercise or stict diet. She's lost an average of a pound a week this way. You WERE a very active person which probably means that you'd have to be fairly active in addition to eating sensibly to lose weight. I know in the webmaster business it is difficult to get much exercise. My hubby used to lift weights and get general exercise and now he's been webmastering for a while he doesn't get the exercise and has put on weight.

Myself, I would ideally like to take a Yoga class and then swim/sauna for an hour afterward 3-4 times a week. Be good way to start the day. Unfortunately at the moment I'm still stuck in a 9 to 5 and webmastering in my free time. This leaves little time for exercise.

Lastly, I must say that I really liked the way doing a weight program strengthened me and helped me lose weight BUT found it incredibly boring.

I'm sure you know most of what has been said having been athletic in the past. Basically eat less than you burn off in a day and eventually you'll lose weight. It'll take you ages, but it will go.

Hunger is often mistaken for thirst. When you feel hungry drink a full glass of water. I never have been on a diet myself, other than trying to gain weight. But I do stay in good shape, and water is very key for me. Lots of water

Why don't you try Hydroxycut. It's some good shit. It also has less side effects than Xenadrine. Both are cool, but Xenadrine makes you crazy. Drink lots of water with it though. You really don't have to exercise on it, unless your just anal.

If your really desperate, Crystal works too.

ATKINS. I've been on >10 grams of carbs per day for 3 weeks and have lost 24 pounds. I'm a Type 2 diabetic, and was taking 2000 mg of Glucophage per day. By day 5 of Atkins, I was able to stop taking the Gluc - with my doctors blessing. My blood and u tests all came back normal. I still monitor my blood 3 times a day and I haven't had a reading over 123 (2 hours after eating). When diagnosed 2 years ago, my fasting blood glucose was 444, I was sick as hell.

I was really tired the second and third day, but since day 4 I have more energy than I had before. I also get up now at 5 am to put in a half hour at the local rec center. Get the newest Atkins book (2002) and read it cover to cover. My doctor didn't dispute a word of it, he told me to keep up the good work and come back in 6 months.

Good Luck!

I lost approximately 100lbs nearly two years, and I've managed to keep most of it off. I'll tell you a formula that is generally accepted by nutritionists and should help you in your quest to lose weight. Take your weight, multiply that number by 10, and you have the amount of calories you need to consume daily to maintain your weight. For instance, if you weigh 200lbs, then you would need to consume 2000 calories in a day to maintain your weight. Simply put, if you consume less than that per day your weight will go down. Also, any calories burned during exercise will reduce that number. It really boils down to a number's game. I actually ate a lot of Subway, and for as dumb as the ads are, the subs are super low cal and can be helpful. Good luck.
