It does speed it up, but i heard its bad for sites, I can't remember the exact reason though, something about it kinda over run the serveers because it asks for so many requests at once or something like that..... I'm not really to computer litterate so I'm not sure.

too much work for the speed up thing. and it's not always going to work because most sites limit the number of connections
