How important is Visa to a new solo girl site.
I'm trying to decide if I should spend the $750 on Visa for a new solo girl site or if I should just wait a couple of months and see how it goes?

As someone who used to work in the credit card industry, depending on your region, you could be missing out on a lot of sales. Visa has relationships with different card issuing banks such as BankOne where they have to issue a minimum of 70% Visa cards at least that's what it was a few years back. With other banks it's a minimum of about 30%. So if you average that out it's pretty significant.
If you were talking about Discover card then that'd be a different story, but to not offer Visa could really impact your sales.

I just checked my wallet. 3 pieces of Visa, nothing else.
I would suspect many potential customers are in the same boat. If you disclose that you don't have full processing, many potential affiliates won't promote the site or program. So, invest in your business already. |

You willl lose so many sales without it, but that is just my opinion, I've only been in the biz for 6 years +/- so many of these guys have more experience. However, I have worked for two major sponsors and that is where WAY over half the sales come from. Also look up NetCash, and hit me up and I'll get you a contanct directly so you don't just blindly email support. Keep your options open, but yes, VISA is must IMO.

VISA is pretty much the only thing used in A LOT of countries.. In Denmark we have access to other types of cards, but VISA debit cards is what 99.9% of us use. Are you only going to focus on the US as your market?

I would never sign up as an affiliate for a program without visa processing. Without VISA your program would look like some nasty fly by night biz. And you will be losing more than half of your sales |

I wonder about the fuzz you make about 750$, if you are starting a paysite, that's nothing, nada.
It's not like it's 75k and it's an investment in a business you want to run long term...and I'm pretty sure it's like 5% of your total investment in the site or less...many people pay more for hosting in a month. I just don't get it... |

If you have to, use your VISA to pay VISA their $750... you'll get it back quickly if you know what you're doing.

You will definitely lose out on sales. However, you won't lose out on as many sales as some people say.
Though Visa may account for ~ 70% of transactions, a considerable percentage of Visa cardholders also have a Mastercard. On top of that, a majority of them will also have chequing accounts. So though you'll lose out, it won't be 70%. Probably more like 40% to 50%.
