Spyware and Zango- Enough talk. LET'S GO GET EM!!

I don't know about you but over the last few months I have seen sales plummet because of this. I am pissed off that people are stealing from me and sponsors and TGPs are enabling it.
Enough talk. Why don't we start boycotting EVERYONE who supports this shit? It doesn't matter whether it is a forum, TGP, sponsor, affiliate, etc. Let's boycott them all. Basically if you do business with these people, you do not do business with us.
One good way to start might be to begin amassing a list of domains that appear to use Zango or spyware. Let's start posting them and calling the fuckers out. From there we can get the sponsors - and be dmn sure to get the names of the owners too so that when we bankrupt their program they won't be able to open another!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. If you are an affiliate or get income from affiliate programs and plan on doing so a year from now too, YOU HAD BETTER DO SOMETHING AND FAST. It is time to hit these low lifes and their supporters and hit them hard!

I'm quite serious about this. I am going to start using the search engines to track down people using Zango and I will be posting it here (and every other webmaster board). If I find major sponsors doing this shit I will personally be mentioning them on security forums by name in addition to telling anyone else who will listen. Hopefully word will spread. Maybe the government will even step in on these people. This is how pissed off I am.

I am perfectly prepared to spend the next 48 hours doing nothing but tracking down sites which use Zango and exposing them everywhere I can. Would I do this to save my business? You betcha.

All zango installs were consented to by the user, so that is their choice. Zango isn't doing anything wrong simply delivering ads targeted to specific interests, which the user has agreed to.

You should be going after the blackhat users who are distributing viruses and malware and illegally infecting users pc's and then fucking you out of cash.

Then trading you malware traffic -> legit traffic -> more users infected.

I can use Zango and similar networks to bid on your URL's as "keywords" so anytime a surfer comes to YOUR site... it will pop up a window inviting them to MY site. the damage is not only done by those doing the installs, its done by affiliates and affiliate programs who are using it to grab surfers from other peoples sites.

If a domain is registered with estdomains, don't trade with it.
If it is hosted with either atrivo, intercage, esthost, inhost or cernel.net, don't trade with it.

also... the point of my post was to point out something that people still don't seem to really understand. you might own "www.The-Best-Dating-Directory-Ever.com" and have 1,000,000 google hits a day because you are a genius SEO and you work very hard with great trades and developing content.

Then you can be a proud affiliate of SexSearch.com ... sending them traffic. Well, SexSearch.com is bidding on your URL as a keyword (not to mention all the other dating keywords that will cause your site to still trigger a popup) and grabbing clicks from anyone that comes to your site with Zango installed. They are hijacking your own hard earned traffic right out from underneath you.

Don't think its installers that are the problem. i seriously doubt that adult represents any significant % of the actual installs..... their installs target kids for the most part (i understand all the other ways to do it and the deceptive ways to install). it is however, the adult affiliate programs that are buying and benefitting directly from YOUR traffic at YOUR expense and hard work.

incorrect (and the FTC agrees with me): Zango uses very misleading methods to get people to install their software, disclosing only in the fine print their intentions, while disguising their stuff as "access to free videos" or "access to play game".

If a user went to their site and was asked "would you like to install a helper that will create popup ads on your computer when you are surfing other sites" I suspect that nobody would install their shitware.

I call it "Asterixware".... because they get you with a little fucking asterix and fuck you over massively. Watch a 30 second video, and then get hundreds of popup ads without knowing why you are getting them. I am sure some people get pissed off at the websites they try to visit, and go nuts trying to get rid of these popups.

You can apologize all you want for Zango, but thier business model is (IMHO) very fucking deceptive... and the FTC has fined them as a result.
