we had read that "The Audition" was super scary. We bought it and it wasn't scary at all...but still a LOT of people says it scares the shit out of them. You should rent it and check it out.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was kinda creepy when I first seen it years and years ago. I guess because it was about 2 AM when I was watching it and I didn't really know what to expect from it.

Probably seems tame these days, haven't watched it for a long time. The remakes were good but certainly not something I would consider scary.

anything starring a wrestler is probably pretty horrifying. Just find a former wrestler turned actor, rent movie, voila, instant horror.

The best scary movie I've ever seen was Blair Witch.

if you didn't see it, it's a must. Be careful, not Blair Witch 2. That one sucked.

Ok Im here now Im the Horror movie king.
Ive seen alot I mean alot of horror.
Depends on alot of things I guess you could say...
If you want fictional scary or real life scary I see alot of responses here and yes terrorism is a scary thing bob but it doesnt come close to a "Horror Movie".

The shinning is a great all time horror movie but it never scared me and I first saw it when I was 6 years old.

The Blair witch was good not scary enough for me to call it scary though.
Oh and by the way Part two was way better!

It had a kick ass sound track the filming was better than a sony handi cam and there was a couple hotties in it too.
Still in my opinion not scary

Personaly what I like is funny scary slap stick B rated horror.

But you want Horror Scary HUH?????.....hmmmmmmmm

Ok what is scary?

I picked this one out of the series cause it rocks (good at the time origional killings).
Alot of people said back then that Halloween was scarier so out of that series Ill pick...(He just seemed very unstoppable)

At this point in the game back in the day it seemed the serial killers really emerged and of course we all know this guy and here is my pick on the series

Freddy Kicks ass...............

i love freddy. he's my fav, although the nightmare on elm street series never SCARED me, but i loved to watch it.

i honestly cannot think of a movie that actually frightened me, i do love horror movies though. don't really get scared by them but i love the gore and special effects.

Freddy rules! I bought that 8-disc collectors set, watched it about a dozen times... I love how cheesy the movies are

The Descent is good, and 2nd poster already mentioned one of my personal favs, Audition http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/ , so for now i'll have to go with The Host if you're going to the movies http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468492/
or Save the Green Planet if you wantto rent a good horror/comedy http://www.apple.com/trailers/indepe...en_planet.html

Wolf Creek isn't bad, takes a while to get goin though, but stay far away from Turistas....someone mentioned "They" too.. IMHO they both suck

Still looking forward to Hatchet with Kane Hodder (Jason) Robert Englund (Freddy), and Tony Todd (Candyman).. comin this summer

I agree with the others that say "A Nightmare On Elm Street", those are or at least used to scare the hell outta me. I'm not sure if they still would since they're old. Another old movie that scared the shit outta me was Poltergeist.

As far as newer scary movies go, The Decent was a good flick, even though the ending was kinda lame. There's one part in there that I can guarentee that everyone in the room will jump. Those that have seen it should know what I mean, ha ha ha.

Why do you think things scare us at one time... then just a few years later.... they seem dumb and cheesy?

What is the overall reason for that...?
