Interesting responses. I mean to disrepect to anybody here, or your family (sons, daughters). I'm well aware the sites get visits from a younger audience; exactly the reason why I do not advertise pornography, directly. If the user clicks through, then that's something beyond my control (aside from removing these types of ads).

In today's economy, it's hard to stay afloat with these types of sites that I've been running. I'm considering just throwing in the towel, putting up no advertisements, and just keeping the sites up for the general public (kids included) to enjoy.

Just wanted to get some different looks and opinions on this matter.

Dude, its a game cheat site. Anyone with half a brain knows theres gonna be tons of kids all over that. He's serving up porn to kids intentionally.

I'm looking to the guys that run that, and talking with them now about getting some AVS setup (the page when you first click through is incredibly indecent. Just to let you guys know, this is kind of a smack in the face for me. I didn't think too much about it before, but now I'm looking into things a little more.

I've just removed all of the ads. These sites will be running purely for entertainment / resource purposes, without advertisements. I'm willing to take the hit in server expenses and whatnot, to try to give something back to the community.

I might suppliment the "porn" ads with some more targetted things, that would be decent for kids to view.

Sorry for the troubles...

Yes I'm aware they deal with pornography. The basic principals are "collect email addresses -> advertise to those email addresses". I'm not exactly sure how they advertise, and with what type of material (I'd assume they advertise FOR paysites) which, in fact, will use an AVS system. I think if the FreeEzineBucks splash page (as soon as you click through) is cleaned up a bit, and no pornography is used, along with 100% AVS, this may not be a problem.

Regardless, the ads are all down.

Sure, listen, im all about parental responsibility. My kids dont to anything unless me or mom are with them. LOL

But, not every parent is either able to do that or they just dont care. And in those cases, game sites shouldnt be serving up porn.

I appreciate the lesson in advertising, but it's in vein. I've tried all forms of advertising, from "Buy This Game Here" (with 15% or whatever commission) to "Bid on it at Ebay" (payment per bid, or click). The money is no comparison.

Despite taking a huge income loss, the ads have been removed.

Experiment with sponsors from such places as Commision Junction (and others) that are out there. They have non adult related sponsor ads and some of them make pretty good money.

I know that for a fact as all the 'straight' camgirls use those places and some of them do rather well. It just takes some playing with the different sponsors they offer to see which works better for your particualr traffic.

You didn't get that pop-up from AceCheats, but more likely the sister site, PureCheats. Again, the ads are already down.

But where do you draw the line? Where is it crossing over? Is saying "Hey Sexy" and whatnot too "pornographic" for young viewers? Or "Hey Hot Stuff"? I mean, where does it actually end. I agree the original ads placed were a bit extreme, which is why they're now removed.

Gimme a break and stop being drama queens. They had a raging "ANIME" add up, oh yes scantily clad cartoons are in the same ballpark as child porn and beastiality *rolls eyes*.

I know the webmaster of one of these sites (neither in the article, but they run a similar site with similar ads) and he isn't trying to peddle porn to kids, he's running the ads he needs to pay server bills. When you get 200k pageviews a day on a ENTERTAINMENT site the bandwidth costs can add up, and when you get a raging .15 cpm it's do or die, and in this case he chose "do".

And considering the fact 90% of the people here run freesites, they aren't in a position to talk, because shockingly enough I bet at least 50% of your traffic is not of legal age to view porn.

ANd to the dumbasses saying you can make "good money" off affiliate programs selling games, LOL? So now all these so called "KIDS" have massive budgets and credit cards.. hahaha.

I myself run several videogame sites for kids and teens and you can 100% cover your expenses with ads from retailers or online stores if you talk with them and can do the marketing right.

So there's no reason to blame it on the market etc..

Swiftone... no one twisted Ace Ace's arm to do that sort of site. If the site won't pay for itself with advertising that is more in keeping with its format, wellllll, close it and do something else. Or figure out another way to advertise the right things and make the money.

But like AA said... its an entertainment site and attracting alot of kids that don't have access to a cc is going to be a hard sell. AA had the idea tho, link to his own personal AVS sites where the kids will be locked out period. As far as the link languages? The two he mentioned are over the top for kids being onsite. Keep them to, Adults, want more adult style entertainment? Click here. etc etc

They had a raging "ANIME" add up, oh yes scantily clad cartoons are in the same ballpark as child porn and beastiality rolls eyes. I know the webmaster of one of these sites (neither in the article, but they run a similar site with similar ads) and he isn't trying to peddle porn to kids, he's running the ads he needs to pay server bills. When you get 200k pageviews a day on a ENTERTAINMENT site the bandwidth costs can add up, and when you get a raging .15 cpm it's do or die, and in this case he chose "do". And considering the fact 90% of the people here run freesites, they aren't in a position to talk, because shockingly enough I bet at least 50% of your traffic is not of legal age to view porn. ANd to the dumbasses saying you can make "good money" off affiliate programs selling games, LOL? So now all these so called "KIDS" have massive budgets and credit cards.. hahaha. I myself run several videogame sites for kids and teens and you can 100% cover your expenses with ads from retailers or online stores if you talk with them and can do the marketing right. So there's no reason to blame it on the market etc.. Stupid newbies..

If the site won't pay for itself with advertising that is more in keeping with its format, wellllll, close it and do something else. Or figure out another way to advertise the right things and make the money. But like AA said... its an entertainment site and attracting alot of kids that don't have access to a cc is going to be a hard sell. AA had the idea tho, link to his own personal AVS sites where the kids will be locked out period. As far as the link languages? The two he mentioned are over the top for kids being onsite. Keep them to, Adults, want more adult style entertainment? Click here. etc etc
