domain purchase woes

i purchased a domain through a host about a month ago. i did a whois on the domain and saw that the domain is registered to the host in question. they have discontinued answering emails. i really want this domain. i live in australia, and the host is in the US, so it is hard to contact them. is there some administrative body i can complain to in order to have this resolved?
thanks

Find out who the registrar is. If you can provide proof of payment - they may transfer it to you. I would think if you have control over the site and can upload a page - that would be helpfl too.

I haven't done this before, but I know people that have provided proof of purchase in case of changed emails and stuff. Things may have changed since then.

Also - you may want to try just transfering it. Sometimes they are not locked and if the person doesn't answer their emails declining the transfer - it will be approved.

I would call the registrar if possible and ask them.

Just my 2 cents.
