a big :321GFY to all the idiots who said we are wasting our time fighting it :2 cents:

I take specific objection to being labeled as "irresponsible" because I don't support .XXX - my feeling is that the people who most often work in the grayest areas of our business are the ones trying to get this done, with the goal of squeezing smaller players out of the game and seeking to create a semi-monopoly on all online porn.

They can truly go fuck themselves.

ROFL... you can tell she's the kind of person that talks herself to sleep at night. I'm guessing she's been married three or four times and she doesn't understand why her husbands keep leaving her. She should be forced to have a zipper surgically sewn into her lips.

yes, but she said that the tld submission should not be revisited or resubmitted again.

icann in my opinion wants stuart to go away.

It is just overwhelming. She sounds like she came to the table with her mind made up, and has no hope of allowing any change to that opinion.

I hope he will get the message

he will cut his losses and move to other biz ventures

best luck to him with that :thumbsup (no, its not sarcasm)

Caffiend 03-30-2007 02:03 AM

One of these guys needs to walk over there and turn off this chick's microphone. Honestly, did she just tell everyone what the internet was, and that we used modems to connect to it?

TampaToker 03-30-2007 02:03 AM

i muted her ass.... Is she for it or against it?

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:05 AM

The funniest part is that she says that "some on the board might have a problem with adult content", yet she is the only one so far that sounds like she could work for the Bush Administration. She doesn't just speak, but she spews.

Of course! She worked on that fucking long ass speech for a month, she didn't have time to ready her "change of heart" speech. She was going to decide at the last minute which way to go via a coin flip but since she didn't have her backup speech ready she just went with her "I'm a close-minded bitch" speech.

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:06 AM

Rather than addressing the issue, she is pissing all over the board. She is truly making friends here.

seeric 03-30-2007 02:07 AM

how the fuck did she get on the board anyhow? jesus.

notabook 03-30-2007 02:07 AM

I wonder if the applause was for her finally shutting up?

Caffiend 03-30-2007 02:09 AM

Why does a simple yes or no answer need to be accompanied by a 10 minute speech?

seeric 03-30-2007 02:09 AM

4 in favor so far. i know its gonna be a 9-5 against the tld. its playing out that way

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:10 AM

There is a large group of people that agree with her, thinking that ICANN shouldn't look at the implications, just the "pure nuts and bolts".

notabook 03-30-2007 02:13 AM

"I vote yes to no." What the fuck hahahaha!

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:20 AM

Most important is that it is "not going to get discussed again in this cycle", which effectively means probably 2 or 3 years at least.

END OF DISCUSSION.

Now, can someone please publish the list of the people who were supporting this?

Nodtveidt 03-30-2007 02:20 AM

Waiting to see it show up on ICANN's website. I missed the party, so I guess I'll just have to scope the pics. :D

mikeyddddd 03-30-2007 02:20 AM

not really, this cycle ends in 4 months or so

the new cycle will probably open in 12-18 months i'd say

but I hope ICM will get the message that .xxx is not wanted and they will not apply for it again

StickyGreen 03-30-2007 02:23 AM

Fuck yea... :thumbsup :thumbsup :smokin

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 02:25 AM

actually it seems certain that icann doesnt want this .xxx

ICM aren't that stupid, they will see it

no point in applying one more time for it in 2 years, if it's gonna get declined again :)

Even at that 4 months to end the cycle, then 18 months to START the process again, and this last one has run almost 4 years?

I feel sorry for the .XXX people (just a bit) but if I was them, I would have taken the last 9-5 vote as a clear indication that it wasn't going to work out.

Anyone get the list yet?

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 02:25 AM

Im out, enjoy your day/night everyone :thumbsup

96ukssob 03-30-2007 02:30 AM

kick ass :thumbsup

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:39 AM

This has been a very good month for the true online porn indsutry. COPA gets a kicked down yet again, and now .XXX gets the drubbing it so richly deserved.

Now if we could just get AFF to pay affiliates for the sales lost because of their use of Zango, we would really have something.

scottybuzz 03-30-2007 02:42 AM

dam i was going to make millions from this. :(

jk

davecummings 03-30-2007 02:45 AM

Congrats to all of you who helped save the Adult Internet as we now know it. The 9-5 vote killed the attempted takeover!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew!!!
