I left the cinema dissapointed. I can't pin point exactly why, but for me, there was something missing from it.

I think ultimately, it was a clever concept for a movie but poorly executed. The final scene being 'The Prestige' to the entire preceeding story was, when you think about it, the only ending possible.

I really want to see this one. I LOVE Christian Bale. The Machinist and Empire of the Sun are two of my favorite movies. Directv just sent me 12 free ppv coupons for putting up with their shitastic HD dvr, so I think I will order it today.

I figured out the "twist" with about 30 minutes left in the movie and that really soured it for me. There were a lot of things to like about the movie, but there was something missing. Not sure if it was how it was put together or what...

Pretty trippy flick indeed.

The story is awesome, however I didnt like the part in the plot where the two illusionists part ways, then immediatly they both retaliate in beards...i know its part of the story to seal it....but...it coulda been executed better...the rest was great

yeah right. just as obvious as the other guy cloning himself and then killing the clone at every show. had to be totally obvious. i can imagine your dissapointment.

i am very cynical about movies and i thought it was a great movie.

I dunno.. It was alright. I'm not sure I understand why the last clone knew not to reveal himself in the prestige. All the other before him came out on stage to reveal that he "transported" himself to the other end of the theatre. But those were just clones. So how did the last one know not to reveal himself to pin the murder on Wolverine?

Maybe I'm over thinking it. And when did American Pyscho become the good guy? It's like he was just as much of an asshole as Wolverine, so why should he get the last laugh? Why should he get to live? I know his twin brother died (which was a tad far fetched) but whatever.

I did go to Ameoba over the weekend and buy a bunch of movies one was "DarkDays" If you haven't seen it.. RENT IT! It's fucking nice. A GREAT documentary. It's the documentary where the guy goes and lives with the homeless in the subway tunnels for a couple of years. Fuckin' amazing.

David Bowie playing Tesla was a quirky but cool casting. Almost didn't recognize him at first.

As a kid I remember reading the Houdini bio 'The Man Who Walked Through Walls' - and loved that whole early vaudeville era and the fierce competition that actually took place among the entertainers back then.

Great movie - perfect blend of loosely-based historical fact and sci-fi.

That actually was pretty obvious Once you saw all the cats and hats one piece of the puzzle was in place and then the gun next to him when the hugh jackman character cloned himself completed the puzzle.

I dont think i was the only person in the world that put that together 2/3rds through the movie

Many of you mentioned the Illusionist, so I watched it tonight and thought it was great. I can't really tell you which one I liked more (Prestige or Illusionist) in fact I think I loved both the same. The Illusionist has a better story in my opinion, but both movies were able to get me to forget everything around myself and concentrate on them 100%. Movies that can do that are considered awesome if you ask me.

I used to work at MagicCraft building stage illusions for vegas shows and japanese shows. That doesn't make the Prestige any better. It was still just alright.
