I watched it, great movie.

Calico Jack 03-25-2007 02:24 AM

I left the cinema dissapointed. I can't pin point exactly why, but for me, there was something missing from it.

really? wow....maybe your didnt understand? it was a bit difficult to get....have to think hard about the ending....

Bloomer 03-25-2007 02:28 AM

It was a really cool flick.
True to form in the history of Magic.
The Illusionist was also good.
Take it from me Im a professional magician.:2 cents:

Gary_TLX 03-25-2007 04:06 AM

I've seen it a month or so ago and really loved it. Thinking about it, I wouldn't mind watching it again. :D

Jace 03-25-2007 04:07 AM

Good flick, If you surrender to the obvious, & then it is great! :thumbsup Didn't see you @ Adult Con today ... it was way crowded though. Did you skip it?

Mr. Manson 03-25-2007 04:29 AM

I've seen it too, awesome movie with very unexpected ending :thumbsup

Martin3 03-25-2007 04:35 AM

Great movie :thumbsup

OTerror 03-25-2007 04:36 AM

I saw it, great movie!

Calico Jack 03-25-2007 04:58 AM

I think ultimately, it was a clever concept for a movie but poorly executed. The final scene being 'The Prestige' to the entire preceeding story was, when you think about it, the only ending possible.

pinkbits 03-25-2007 05:07 AM

I loved it watched today !

Calico Jack 03-25-2007 05:10 AM

Still, I'd watch it again, the performers were great and I loved seeing Bowie...I thought he was great, Michael Caine too.

tyler. 03-25-2007 06:57 AM

Awesome movie , the ending is crazy

Holly 03-25-2007 08:02 AM

I really want to see this one. I LOVE Christian Bale. The Machinist and Empire of the Sun are two of my favorite movies. Directv just sent me 12 free ppv coupons for putting up with their shitastic HD dvr, so I think I will order it today.

uno 03-25-2007 08:09 AM

I liked The Illusionist more.

MrVids 03-25-2007 08:24 AM

I figured out the "twist" with about 30 minutes left in the movie and that really soured it for me. There were a lot of things to like about the movie, but there was something missing. Not sure if it was how it was put together or what...

VeriSexy 03-25-2007 08:25 AM

Saw it a while ago, yea I like the illusionist more

StuartD 03-25-2007 08:26 AM

I really enjoyed The Prestige... it was quite well done.

Bansheelinks 03-25-2007 10:43 AM

The Prestige and The Illusionist........both high recommends from me

:thumbsup

madawgz 03-25-2007 11:02 AM

i really didnt think that movie was so special

Deej 03-25-2007 11:06 AM

Pretty trippy flick indeed.

The story is awesome, however I didnt like the part in the plot where the two illusionists part ways, then immediatly they both retaliate in beards...i know its part of the story to seal it....but...it coulda been executed better...the rest was great

yeah right. just as obvious as the other guy cloning himself and then killing the clone at every show. had to be totally obvious. i can imagine your dissapointment.

i am very cynical about movies and i thought it was a great movie.

RedShoe 03-25-2007 12:11 PM

I dunno.. It was alright. I'm not sure I understand why the last clone knew not to reveal himself in the prestige. All the other before him came out on stage to reveal that he "transported" himself to the other end of the theatre. But those were just clones. So how did the last one know not to reveal himself to pin the murder on Wolverine?

Maybe I'm over thinking it. And when did American Pyscho become the good guy? It's like he was just as much of an asshole as Wolverine, so why should he get the last laugh? Why should he get to live? I know his twin brother died (which was a tad far fetched) but whatever.

I did go to Ameoba over the weekend and buy a bunch of movies one was "DarkDays" If you haven't seen it.. RENT IT! It's fucking nice. A GREAT documentary. It's the documentary where the guy goes and lives with the homeless in the subway tunnels for a couple of years. Fuckin' amazing.

Nicole Sparks 03-25-2007 02:28 PM

I loved that movie, it's great! Christian Bale is awesome... His role in The Machinist is amazing.

Martina Warren 03-25-2007 02:32 PM

I thought it was a great movie

BusterBunny 03-25-2007 02:35 PM

the prestige owns the illusionist:2 cents:

SilentKnight 03-25-2007 05:22 PM

David Bowie playing Tesla was a quirky but cool casting. Almost didn't recognize him at first.

As a kid I remember reading the Houdini bio 'The Man Who Walked Through Walls' - and loved that whole early vaudeville era and the fierce competition that actually took place among the entertainers back then.

Great movie - perfect blend of loosely-based historical fact and sci-fi.

I would have to agree. I mean, dont get me wrong; thought it was good. But I saw the ending coming from a mile away. I was hoping for there to be more to it

That actually was pretty obvious :upsidedow Once you saw all the cats and hats one piece of the puzzle was in place and then the gun next to him when the hugh jackman character cloned himself completed the puzzle.

I dont think i was the only person in the world that put that together 2/3rds through the movie

kris_web_design 03-25-2007 06:32 PM

it's a fucking kick ass movie, with bloody british power house cast. wolverine and batman tacked in one movie :)

Gary_TLX 03-25-2007 06:33 PM

Many of you mentioned the Illusionist, so I watched it tonight and thought it was great. I can't really tell you which one I liked more (Prestige or Illusionist) in fact I think I loved both the same. The Illusionist has a better story in my opinion, but both movies were able to get me to forget everything around myself and concentrate on them 100%. Movies that can do that are considered awesome if you ask me. :)

WWC-Moe B. 03-25-2007 06:39 PM

have the dvd... need to make time to watch it :)

LittleSassy 03-25-2007 06:40 PM

great movie, seen it twice....

Hollywood Horwitz 03-27-2007 02:31 PM

I liked it but I fell asleep for some reason at the end of the movie, I'm sure it had to do with copious amounts of ganja and being ADD, oh well....

VS_Eddie 03-27-2007 03:13 PM

Was a great movie!!!

KrisKross 03-27-2007 10:54 PM

I used to work at MagicCraft building stage illusions for vegas shows and japanese shows. That doesn't make the Prestige any better. It was still just alright.
