And you don't design logos with Photoshop, you edit photos, hence the word "photo"

True, some people make logos using Photoshop, but Illustrator is better suited for creating vector graphics from scratch.

Thats the dumbest statement yet ... considering "Photo"shop was the name given to a program some 10-odd years ago when it was designed for just that. There is very little that Illustrator can do these days that you can't do in Photoshop.

Adobe Lightroom = Photo Editting
Adobe Illustrator = Design Adobe Photoshop = Somewhere in between the two. |
