Would you promote something like this?
We're getting ready to roll out a pay per signup option for DarkDollars, but are looking to see if it was worthwhile to try it this way...
We're thinking of scrapping trials altogether. Keep in mind, our sites are unique in nature, so there's little to no competition to have to justify a cheap trial. We're looking into offering the old get one week free access, but the free week comes after a paid one month membership (in other words, 5 weeks for the price of 4) with heavy disclaimers of course to avoid chargeback pitfalls. Would you promote something like this? You would still be able to promote a "free week" (as long as the words "free trial" wasn't used) for creative marketing purposes. Also would you prefer something like $25-30 per signup and get your own exit traffic back (or no exits at all) and $35-40 with the exits going to our consoles (with all of our sites represented on the first exit carrying your code or just the standard $35 per signup? We're just looking for feedback. As a webmasters as wellas a sponsor I know what I prefer, but just wondering about the rest of the peanut gallery?

My 2 cents...rather than losing the trial, I would be thinking of more ways to upsell inside, esp. with your type of niche. The free week after a paid month was scammy back then and still sounds scammy. Finally and most importantly, what webmaster would promote a non-trial prog?

it will also cut down on some of the fraud....if the tour is good enough to sell, I don't see why I should settle for $3-4 when that same surfer will just go ahead and pay the $30-40 per month...of course if we were doing the same generic niches and tours as everyone else, we'd probably have to go with the flow....if for nothing more than the "webmaster marketing" aspect.... this has always been a complaint of mine from both ends....trying to create a program that sells the webmaster and the surfer...I see all these slick, overproduced tours and funny enough, our best converting site is AlternativeGirls and the tour is very amateurish...almost plain....but webmasters won't send traffic to it for that same reason....hehehe, go figure ;) I remember the days before trials and my conersions didn't suffer much back then, even when everyone started going with trials.... thanks for the feedback, it is nice to know what everyone is thinking....

I hate trials and try to promote programs that do not offer them.

I hear you Seven.
Sykk, talk to the guys with all the data in front of them...ccbill, ibill, etc. ibill once crunched a bunch of numbers and presented them to us in one of their premium account meetings. The numbers FOR trials was staggering. They even recommended the best trial/recurring pricing points...the exact #'s escape me. If your member's area is half decent, how can you lose with trials? |

thats the problem...everybody is based on shitty member areas... the only time you should have no trials is when you have exclusive content i.e. bangbus if you have the money just script something out to offer your webmasters to use trials or not based on their own discretion again,i.e. oxcash no offence but i dont see a big buzz with your sites(dark$) so i dont see too many buying a full membership off the jump...better use trials

the goth niche is fairly specific...it's not going to convert general traffic and retention from general sites isn't as good as from more specifc sites, and we realize this...but that's the way with more general paysites as well, in that if a surfer has just come from a TGP, they have already seen numerous sites, so they might do a little bargain shopping or are seasoned enough to have no intention whatsoever to recur, no matter how hot the site is. This is why some of the higher paying programs like SexHit and Intergal won't take TGP traffic... actually, I'm a greedy fuck...I want to go with pay per signup to increase our profit margin....I prefer to pay a webmaster 30-40 and make more long term...more money in my pocket...for example, even though we had the hosting issue, we still have members recurring to gothicsex from day 1....we're having to pay those webmasters over $200 per signup and I'd rather have just given them $30-35 and made all that extra profit for myself...sorry to inject some honesty in a sponsor discussion ;) again, I do appreciate the feedback...keep it coming guys....
