Photogs - How to take photos of a room/house?

Help! I'm tryin to take photos of my house so I can rent it out but I suck. Huge rooms look small, cold, dim etc. Any tips? I have a regular old Sony digital cam.

Use a fisheyed lens and shoot at night with the artificial lights on and the curtains closed to give it a warm effect.
