What we can do about it is like Raw said (Private networking) also we can all just become or own sponsors(secondary producers)and totally eliminate these problems.Hell we also could become our own first hand producers as well I think this ladies and gents is the way to make some serious money and also meet some serious chicks!Take things step by step and reach the goal! Just think no more trading I personally think everything goes around in a circle ten years ago everything was a text site. One text site alone could pay your bills and content was pristine.Things changed and thumbs took over and the CJ sites came in then the CJ2 by then the saturation of the industry had skyrocketed. Now Im seeing more and more blogs and way better content type sites however this trojan crap is nuts.I personaly have ten sites infected with this shit!!!!!:thumbsup

GO BLACKHAT :thumbsup

Really.

I see you represent peer4profit in your sig. Perhaps I need to add them to my blacklists. You obviously side with and support the thieves of this industry.

Give me one good reason why every other webmaster here shouldn't add you to their blacklists as well.

Sometimes it's best to shut your mouth rather than post every dumbass thought that pops into your head.

This business always seems to succeed in sinking to a new low... what amazes me is that anyone would actually stick up for these assholes.

ah fuck it

polish_aristocrat 11-03-2007 05:17 AM

its funny how all this sudden drama about stealing ref codes died so fast

and i have even seen people saying that 50% of the traffic gets hijacked

ah well exaggerated drama like usually

if it wasn't, then this would be still a topic, much bigger than some AFF banner on a torrent site

Cash 11-03-2007 05:29 AM

Conspiracy theory?

Actually, I contacted over a dozen sponsors last week with logs of refcode jacking. Some of them seemed to take it serious even...

the ones that didn't take it serious probably have a hand in it...

GrouchyAdmin 11-03-2007 12:41 PM

Everything that doesn't add up is due to a "rogue affiliate."

DaddyHalbucks 11-03-2007 12:55 PM

That's some bad stuff.

ianlester 11-03-2007 01:05 PM

if you are not watching your traffic then this is useful information. Otherwise, you wouldn't care

Okidoki 11-04-2007 06:26 AM

I don't know if this already has been suggested, or if it is already build in (I don't use the software).

But wouldn't it be an idea if NATS and MPA3 would have a built in fraud detection script which checks exactly this type of strange behaviour of rogue affiliates.
I think most cash programs do want to do something about this. But it is possibly a lot of work, therefor it is not that high on their agenda.
If they would just get a list of suspicious affiliates. It would make things a lot easier for them.

I don't know..just an idea..

cooluks 11-04-2007 06:39 AM

That dickhead must be stopped. Getting money without using their effort.... The hell with them...

Linkster 11-04-2007 08:52 AM

Okidoki - even if they took an hour to go through a comparison of their click logs(referrals) and compared them to the ref codes of the affiliate once a week they could probably see who is getting hit with it - just to check the top 250 or so affiliates wouldnt be that hard - but yes a script that compares the ref url click aff code to the join aff codes wouldnt be that hard
