At that time we were supporting 15 peace keeping missions and had I think only two full battle groups left to defend our borders. We try to help with what we have but don't have enough to go around and in this case only had a couple platoons there.

We should have done more to help and quite frankly so should have the Dutch who created the shit situation. I guess the only thing left to comment on is that at least we try to help out with what little we have. Peacekeeping isn't part of your government's international policies and that's up to you and totally cool but don't get defensive when someone disagrees with it since you disagree with the rest of the planet on everything else.

LOL are you that blind that you don't see that every single country in the world is a dictatorship? You can vote what you want, but once the people you have voted on get the power, they follow their own agenda. Democracy is a farce, it's a dictatorship wrapped in pretty illusion-of-democracy paper.

Example of your style of looking at things: The majority of Americans are against Bush and against the war, why don't these pussies do something about it?
Answer: Since the US is also a "democracy" like the Netherlands, they properly voted. Fucking around with the votes is a clear sign, even to the most brainless sheep, that a president would run the country who had "won" the elections by tampering with the votes: Dictatorship in its purest form.

So do I where my country is concerned. I won't call some of your comments about Canada in this thread lies, but you do seem to have a lot of false notions about us.

And Splum, pointing your country's faults isn't always "attacking", even if the person doing the pointing out resides in a foreign country. Sometimes it is, but quite often (as is the case with a few of my fellow canuckleheads here) it's done in the spiirit of the conversation. Trashing others' country of origin and shouting about how superior the US is and what an elite human being you are for being a US citizen and so forth really does just make you look bad. It shines a very negative light on the rest of your country as well.

Thankfully most Americans I know aren't that way.


That said, I do believe that Iran's nuclear facilities are not long for this world.
