I saw them around the same time, and I'm a HUGE fan... but you know what? I thought the concert was a little dissapointing. I wanted Zach to inspire me to boycott whitey (I'm white!) or bomb a Wal-Mart or something Rageful, but instead we got a by-the-numbers show. WHICH, was a great thing; just not totally-unfuckin'-real status. SB |

Jimi Hendrix playing on stage with Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley - that rocked - it was at G Wash Univ in DC during the moratorium marches against the VN war
That show probably impressed me the most - but there have been loads of others - the colleges in DC when I was in mylate teens were always having outdoors live concerts so J Taylor, Procul Harem, Grateful Dead, Little Richard and on and on In Hawaii, we used to have crater concerts for New years and the 4th of July in Diamondhead Crater - the best I saw there (and I was backstage moving amps and equip for the sound system) was Fleetwood Mack, Flo and Eddie, Robin Trower(of course he had to do the wake up thing like Hendrix the second morning), Canned Heat and tons of other acts |
This is quite gay but my utmost best experience was robbie w.
He is such a gifted entertainer. I also saw clawfinger when they were hot and that was pretty neat as well. In a total different way though. |

Limos and trucking were early directions in which I expanded my first business. We had a lot of clients in the music business and I lost count of how many concerts I went to during those years: everyone from Frank Sinatra doing a European tour to Jack Bruce attempting a comeback in a small village pub. The Who, Stones, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, etc in between.
But one of my favorites has always been "Last Night Of The Proms" at which the real performers are the audience. I have been to three I think and the atmosphere is something else. Otherwise I remember a humorous singer/songwriter called Jake Thackeray who turned up to a near empty Fairfield Halls in Croydon one night. I think Jake and all the 50-odd people there expected a disaster, but he got everyone to sit front and center, and within a couple of songs we had forgotten we were in this big, empty cavern. In the end he sang for almost three hours and looked set to keep going, except the theater management told him he had to stop so they could go home :) |
OF all weirdass no one knows them shows... 12 Stones was the most fun I had.
