Hey PS3 owners, how is the upconverting for old DVD's? I know it's not supposed to be as good as the stand alone HD-DVD or Blu-Ray players, but does it make your regular DVD's look any better at all?

Also can you stop a DVD and turn the system off, then resume from the same spot later? That always bugged me about playing movies in the PS2, there wasn't even a counter so you could write down where you were.

It should be in the PS3 soon, or so they say. I also have the XBox360 HDDVD player and the upconversion in that does a nice job with regular DVDs. I was actually surprised by the output and have enjoy watching some old favorites over again.

Very nice. Through a software download or what do you think? Not a whole new PS3, right?
