depending on how much I made from the sponsor I would do it

if it was a $100 a month or something piddly, then no, but if I was making enough that I would be considered an "employee" or "contract labor" at any normal job, then yeah, sure

afterall, if I couldn't trust them with my passporte or drivers license info, why would I send them traffic in the first place?

there isnt a chance in the world i would do that , and i advise anyone who is to consult a lawyer.. it would be illegal in many countries for quickbuck to attempt to verify any of the documents. nor would they have any ability to do so , so its basically a useless procedure.

If a scammer in india copies his friends i.d. , theres no way for quickbuck to verify the i.d. is true, any scammer is going to see thru this in a heartbeat.

Hats off to quickbuck for "trying" something smart. "hats back on " for doing it in a silly restrictive way..

its not just them you have to worry about , its every employee , cleaning lady , secretary , programmer , maintenance man etc any of them could steal your identity and then your screwed.

Im really serious here you gotta be deadly serious these days about your i.d.

All it takes is one bad apple and your whole life could be turned upsidedown. look at the 9/11 hijackers. most of whom were actually on stolen id's of real people who had no connection at all "i.e. id theft"

when someone gets hired for a new job, don't employers require an ID?

what is the laws regarding working in the USA as "contract labor"? don't they NEED your ID by law if you reach a certain payout amount?

the most I have ever been asked to do is fill out paperwork for taxes

Yes - In the US if you are a contract worker the company is required to have an I-9 form on file for you and to verify two pieces of ID in person - or two other combinations- but I doubt highly that these web companies have been asked for that type of documentation YET - all depends on how their lawyers advise them as to their "labor force" and its definition

I only make maybe a millionth of what many folks here do but my CPA suggested a few years ago that I get a (well shit, went brain dead) the ID that doesn't include your social security number. Dang, I killed too many brain cells in the 1960's. Most sponsors accept that. It makes one feel a bit better about giving out personal info.

Sponsors have the right to protect themselves from fraudulent affiliates, and honest affiliates should be glad for that. It's like shoplifting -- cheater affiliates cost honest ones money.

LOL....yeah, I am not quite sure how asking for a photocopy of a ID deters fraud, maybe if you were able to grab the ID in person and photocopy it yourself, but if someone is planning on commiting fraud the quickest thing they are going to do is photoshop a new passporte
