Wanted: UI developer
Figured I'd post here.. finding someone GOOD at UI is really quite a hunt.
We are currently looking for either an individual or company who specializes, or at least LOVES doing UI work. What is UI? Basically taking data, and presenting it in a unique, clear, concise, and intuitive manner. This also means a design which makes manipulation of data simple and intuitive. The perfect candidate would have a portfolio of similar UI work for us to look over briefly. Ideas on how to improve your traditional "web UI" widgets are good as well - this will be the time for you to experiment. You will be expected to be able to do the following: * Take a current website design's look and feel, and turn use that as a starting point for designing "user login" areas which both present data, and provide means of manipulation of said data. * Ability to see non-obvious means of displaying data - for example, google's gmail showed the world some unique ways of doing webmail. * Basic understanding of backend programming and how it relates to templating. Essentially, we don't expect you to be a coder but you need to understand what is realistic and what is not. The PERFECT candidate (however we don't expect this) will also have: * Experience working with Perl - specifically Template::Toolkit * Experience working with ISP's and/or hosting providers in a design context - even being a large hosting customer qualifies here if you've ever said "wow, I wish they would just do X" in relation to customer systems. We're not afraid to pay for quality. This would be hourly-paid work on contract to begin with. If we determine we're a good match, full time employment and long-term contract are a strong possibility. If you're interested and feel yourself or your company would be a good fit - hit me up via e-mail or AIM. I can be found @ phil at reflected.net or AIM: philtwoone -Phil
