Potential project - Post if interested

I'm thinking about starting a new venture which I think could be pretty successful.

Basically, I want to get between 10 and 15 people who are interested in investing approximately $500 each to collaborate on a new pay site.

I figure that if everyone involved helps with the promotion and maintaining of the site it could get big in a small amount of time, especially with a great concept. Tasks would be well delineated.

The logistics would be well established beforehand. Obviously, contracts would be necessary and legal advice would have to be sought.

If you're interested in such an investment please post here.

no thanks

it doesn't take 10-15 people to create a paysite, and profit sharing for 10-15 off one paysite wouldn't be worth the effort

I understand that. It could be an interesting concept though for people who don't have a lot of money to spend or are just starting out

definitely not for everyone here.

You could almost call it an experimental project. It could totally bomb but it might pay off and open up the door for future projects

also correct.

But, like I said - this is for people who would like to be involved with a paysite and not have to invest too much upfront

And the new concept could be having the group itself - you instantly have a bunch of people trying to make the site as successful as possible

Communism isn't so experimental anymore. It failed.

I'm sure this will be a huge success... I would like to purchase 2 shares in this venture, where do I send the funds to?

10 guys couldn't decide where to eat lunch without a fist-fight. Good luck.

I'm being realistic, anyone who would want to do this would realize the risk anyway

So you believe that a group of people getting together to invest and form a business is communism? Hmmm, maybe rethink that one.

Obviously that's a logistical concern. Decisions would be reached by majority votes, etc. And positions and responsibilities would be well delineated well before any investment was required.

These are technicalities that can be addressed, although group projects can be very successful if well coordinated.

haha, funny.

Dude, this isn't for everyone. And the answer to your question is: that would depend and what the group decided after some initial discussions.

Haha, no.

But your idea of everyone getting together, putting together money, and working together equally for a same equal return is highly utopic. It has failed many, many times. Ten strangers working together? Start a partnership with one person you have known your entire life and its damn near impossible.

You seriously need to have a better plan than that to be successful.

$500 buy in per sounds like a pack of low rollers that wont be able to get further than a few days at best if at all.

It would be a pack of low rollers, but that's kind of the point. Don't rule it out so quickly, it could be pretty successful for the following reasons:

- Creative input from many people
- Lots of people to promote the site
- Not having to put in too much time
- Small investment, large potential return

Of course the challenge would be organizing that many people together. I believe having a private forum and through icq would be effective
