about godaddy

Today i got an email from godaddy that my registration information was wrong and that they're charging $9.95 per domain for invalid whois, i called in and let them i am using a PO box, my question is if someone makes a complaint against your domain name, can they just tack on a fee like that?

Godaddy are scum. They'll sting you with all sorts of charges that NO other registrar does. Transfer out of there. Pray you don't get a spam complaint, false or not. Nasty.

yeah i thought about it, the only thing is namecheap doesn't do some of the extensions i have with godaddy, and yahoo domains' interface is weak.

If you love your domains, you transfere them out there as fast as you can. I used godaddy for a long time but believe me: If you get just 1 time in trouble with them....even because of a stupid and wrong spam complaint or anything else, you are f*cking owned.

Try namcheap...there is also no crazy advertising hell as you can see at godaddy. Godaddy looks like the milliondollarpage with bigger icons.

Thousands of domains with them for years and not one problem. Actually my account rep goes above and beyond to service our account.

If you use them for hosting you get what you deserve, but they are a great registrar as far as we are concerned.

you said it, i don't know why i keep my domains there, i guess it is such pain to transfer .name or .us anywhere else, guess what i got those at godaddy, i think they make it difficult so you stay, i already got some registrars in mind

for all you guys that have domains at godaddy, wait until you have a problem, maybe it's me with less than 100 domains, some of you guys with thousands of domains probably get your ass kissed every day by godaddy. pray that no one noticed your whois info is off by a digit or a word, cause they will tack your ass with adminsitration fees, that's by the domain, $9.95 times your domains (100-1000) that could be a serious loss.

and i also emailed them, told them if i was to pay this $9.95 fee i might as well transfer it out and just pay another registrar and contact my credit card company and prevent godaddy from charging my card, same thing.

yes i see their hosting listed on some tgps, it's pretty weak.

How do you know that, and what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

too lazy to explain

as you can see clearly in this thread so many people choose to ignore the warning signs and still keep their domains with GoDaddy - hey, I'm happy with them, why should care that so many other people have their domains taken/accounts suspended ......... oooooooooops, is that a dick up my ass? I should've listened to Antonio

just my 2c and I really hope that I'm wrong
